I've heard of mug cakes, but Mac & Cheese In a Mug?! This is a new one, but a delicious one. Forget boxed macaroni and cheese, whip it up yourself, from scratch, in the microwave!
You'll feel good eating this using real cheese rather than the powdered stuff, and it's ready just as fast (if not faster). Feel free to add veggies like broccoli or cut up carrots if you're feeling extra adventurous!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup water
- ½ cup elbow macaroni
- ½ cup cheese(s) of choice
Directions:
Put macaroni in a mug and pour in water (you may want to add more or less water depending on mug size, but there should be more than enough to completely cover noodles).
Microwave on high for 8 minutes pausing at the 5 and 2 minute mark to stir and add more water if necessary.
Cook until al dente.
Add cheese to pasta mixing with the small amount of water remaining at bottom of mug.
If cheese does not completely melt, pop mug back in microwave for 30-60 seconds.
Stir and enjoy!
