A routine trip to the pharmacist landed the Incredible Hulk star Lou Ferrigno in a hospital bed earlier this week.
Now, the actor is warning his fans to pay attention while getting their shots, to avoid the same mistake he made.
The bodybuilder posted a picture of himself hooked up to an IV drip on Thursday, and blamed a pneumonia shot he received on Wednesday for the injury.
Ferrigno, 67, says the shot, which he got at his local pharmacy, was administered incorrectly, causing his bicep to swell up.
"Went in for a pneumonia shot and landed up here with fluid in my bicep," Ferrigno captioned his photo.
"He got back from the pharmacy and his arm was really hurting," Ferrigno's wife Carla revealed to Radar Online, "and it just got worse and worse so he had to go to the hospital."
"They hooked him up to all sorts of drips and treated him and it went down," she said. "He's out now, but it wasn't a great experience."
The hulking actor assured fans he'll be okay, but warned them to "keep an eye on who's giving the shot and make sure they not only swab the spot correctly but that you watch the needle come out of the package."
Elderly patients (65 and older) are often recommended to get a pneumonia vaccine, which helps prevent infections including meningitis and pneumonia itself.
Side effects from these vaccines are not unheard of, but are usually milder than Ferrigno's case, and go away on their own in just a day or two.
Carla said Ferrigno was out of the hospital in time to walk the red carpet at an event honoring him, and we're glad to hear he's back in good health.
