It's so heartbreaking when an animal loses their mom, especially when they are too young to care for themselves. Luckily, the lovely people at the Michigan Human Society stepped in to help one of these little orphans.

A small chihuahua puppy was only 2 days old when it's mother was hit by a car. The humane society wasn't sure at first how they could guarantee that this puppy would be okay, but then they realized they had a cat who had just given birth.

They tried introducing the tiny puppy to the new mother, who happily took him in as one of her own.

She didn't care that it was a puppy, she was happy to feed him, bathe him and teach him how to play with all his new brothers and sisters.

He is growing up healthy and perfect, and loves to play with his family.

It probably helps that chihuahuas are so tiny, because he blends right in with the small kittens. They love to cuddle together and the sight of it is enough to melt anyone's heart.
