For 12 years, the Roloff family, stars of TLC's Little People, Big World, invited us into their home each week so we could all get a glimpse of what life is like for a family dealing with dwarfism. Spoiler alert: they're just like us!
Viewers soon grew attached to Matt and Amy Roloff, along with their children, twins Jeremy and Zach, Molly, and Jacob. From wedding and babies, to breakups, fans of the Oregon-based family have been around for numerous milestones, announcements, and of course, difficult moments, like Matt and Amy's divorce.
The once inseparable couple announced they were parting ways in 2014, and despite Amy's efforts to save the marriage, the divorce was made official in May 2016. However, shortly after their marriage ended, things started to look up for the family, who have always stuck by each other despite their differences.
In May 2017, Zach and his wife, Tori, welcomed a baby boy, Jackson Kyle. The new addition is Amy and Matt's first grandchild.
A month later, Jeremy and his wife of three years, Audrey, shared that they were expecting a daughter in September.
Then in August, the family gathered together once more to celebrate 23-year-old Molly's wedding.
"I can't believe my only baby girl Molly is getting married," Amy Roloff wrote on social media before the wedding. "I'm so truly very happy for her my heart over flows...I'm so blessed by Molly and so honored to have Joel a part of the family. It's going to be a beautiful day on the farm."
Now, the family has another reason to throw a big party! The youngest Roloff, Jacob, is engaged!
The 21-year-old made the announcement on social media, and the photos are adorable!
Jacob took to Instagram to share the happy news with the world. He revealed that he proposed to his girlfriend, Isabel Rock, while they were vacationing in Iceland over the holidays.
"We got ENGAGED! It happened in Iceland on the frozen pond, Tjí¶rnin, late on Christmas 🎄" Jacob, 21, captioned the engagement photo. "So much love for this beautiful soul @izzysofia_ . Here's to many more Christmas', you n me."
He followed up the announcement with another photo post and caption that read: "Excited for a lifetime filled with travel, growing together and trying new things with you @izzysofia_."
Isabel also took to Instagram to share the news of their engagement: "We are finally ready to share with everyone... WE ARE ENGAGED!!! ðŸ˜ðŸ’"
She also revealed that the photos were taken in Oregon, "the pace we both grew up."
Amy also sent out a loving message expressing her excitement over the wonderful news.
"And this happened! I couldn't be a happier mom! My youngest- Jacob and the beautiful Isabel are engaged," wrote Amy. "Love them both and excited to see where life will take them in their marriage! 💙💗 #amyssecondactcontinues #engagedtomarry #forthroloffwedding #love #wonderfultogether."
The couple is said to have been dating since 2014, but unlike the rest of the family, they've been very private, so not much is known about how they met.
Jacob, affectionately known as Jake, was only nine years old when his family started filming their reality show. He did not have much of a say when it came to starring on the show, but he has always made it clear in interviews and reports that he did not want to be on TV.
"There's two ways to do the filming thing "” one way is through the show, maybe and the other way is through myself and vlogs. It's just more free doing it myself, I can do anything, I can say anything, I can talk about anything "” I can show whatever I want," Jake explained.
He left the show as soon as he turned 18, after refusing to renew his contract with TLC. Back in 2015, Jake took to Twitter to vent about not getting paid enough by the network and that he was being scammed. He wrote, "Man I wish it didn't feel like I was getting f***ed out of the money from the show that was my childhood right now."
Nowadays, he's a writer, photographer, and adventurer.
Congratulations to Jacob and Isabel! We can't wait to hear about the wedding details.
