There are a myriad of reasons to love the holiday season, not the least of which is the insane lineup of holiday-edition snacks that get released.
Some fan-favorites come back every holiday season, but that doesn't make them any less exciting. Plus, there are always a few new additions to the lineup that seem to steal the show.
These are some the best options for your holiday snacking pleasure.
1. Reese's Santa's Helpers
Anything Reese's and you can count me in. These egg-shaped treats have a picture of one of Santa's helpers on the packaging, but overall the flavor is a traditional Reese's peanut butter cup...and there's nothing wrong with that.
2. Dove Milk Chocolate Hot Cocoa
Okay, so I'm having a hard time getting my head around "chocolate flavored chocolate," but these candies are filled with a marshmallow creme!
3. Peppermint Bark Oreos
A good Oreo cookie can solve a lot of problems, so a good Peppermint Bark Oreo can probably solve ten times as many. These cookies have a peppermint flavored creme with candy cane pieces inside.
4. Nestle Lumps Of Coal
This is the only lump of coal anyone wants to get this year! The chocolate cookie dough is stuffed with chocolate morsels. You can cook the dough, or you can just eat it raw (although the packaging says you shouldn't.)
5. Skinny Pop Holiday Popcorn
Flavored popcorn is becoming all the rage, so Skinny Pop is joining in the trend. They have two new flavors for the holiday, which are gingerbread cookie and white chocolate peppermint. Any time you can eat something that tastes like Christmas but is low calorie, you should always go for it.
6. Starbucks Cookie Straws
Alright, so admittedly I think you can get these from other places all year round, but these Starbucks ones would be perfect to drink egg nog with. The tin is super cute, too!
7. Peeps Gingerbread Men
Peeps have always been a staple at Easter, but now they're making their way into the Christmas world, too. These gingerbread-flavored marshmallow men are a great little stocking stuffer.
8. Haagen-Dazs Peppermint Bark
I can plow through a pint of Haagen-Dazs no matter what the flavor, but the peppermint bark one is even more dangerous for me. Plus, they make ice cream bars of the same flavor, so you can eat them on the go.
9. Pillsbury Elf Cookies
Pillsbury design-inside cookies are life-savers around the holidays since it's pretty hard to find time to bake. This year they've released a new design as an homage to the classic movie Elf. I'll take a few boxes of these, please!
10. Hot Cocoa M&M's
Again with the chocolate flavored chocolate. These new M&M's also have marshmallow center
11. Hot Cocoa Hershey Kisses
Rinse and repeat for the Dove chocolate and M&M's. This hot cocoa flavor is really popular this season, huh?
12. Planters Holiday Nut Crunch
Every year at Christmas I get my dad a big jar of Planters peanuts. I don't really know how that tradition started, but it's been going on for years. I might have to change things up this year, though, because this holiday trail mix looks so yummy!
13. Oreo Candy Canes
These are confusing to me, only because I can't image what they taste like. To me, a candy cane is always peppermint flavored, so the idea of a chocolate and creme flavored cane is strange to me. I'll definitely give them a shot, though.
14. Sugar Cookie Toast Crunch
French Toast Crunch is a classic cereal, but now you can eat sugar cookies for breakfast instead. The Sugar Cookie Toast Crunch is only around for Christmas, but no one will judge you if you stock up to last you through the year.
15. Nestle Gingerbread Cookie Dough Sheets
I love making gingerbread cookies with my nieces and nephews, but actually making the dough is time consuming. Decorating is the fun part! These sheets are all ready to be cut out, baked, and decorated however you want.
16. Jelly Belly Champagne Beans
These are more of a New Year's Eve treat, but holiday nonetheless! The champagne flavored jelly beans are a perfect festive treat.
17. Market Pantry Sugar Cookie Milk
This milk is flavored to taste like cookies, so it's a great addition to coffee tea, and even a cookie recipe you're making for the holidays. Or you could just drink a glass of it. That's always an option.
18. Candy Cane Hershey's Kisses
My personal holiday favorite! I love anything candy cane flavored, and these kisses are the perfect bite-sized bits of deliciousness.
19. Lindt Snickerdoodle Truffles
These might be the most intriguing holiday treat. They appear to be a white chocolate shell filled with snickerdoodle ganache in the middle, which basically means they're perfect. A bag of these would be a perfect gift for when you're invited to a dinner party.
20. White Chocolate & Peppermint Pretzel Crisps
Chocolate covered pretzels are the epitome of a salty-sweet snack, so these ones should be no different. I'm just wondering what the ratio will be like. The pretzels are pretty thin to start with, and there looks to be a lot of chocolate on there. Will they end up being too sweet?
21. Sea Salt & Chocolate Candy Corn
LISTEN. Regular candy corn is gross, okay? But this seems to be a little more promising. The texture is the only thing I'm not sold on yet. Also, I had no idea that candy corn existed outside of the realm of Halloween candy. The more you know, I guess.
22. Ghiardelli Peppermint Bark Squares
Yes. Yes. 1000 times yes. These have a white chocolate and peppermint top, with a dark chocolate bottom. The perfect way to eat peppermint bark is in bite-sized squares, so you can feel like you're not eating as much. Ghiardelli gets it.
23. Salted Caramel Pringles
Okay, so I'm not actually 100% sure these are coming back this year. I've heard rumblings that they might be, but there's no guarantee. This is another one of those salty-sweet combos, though, so I'm all for it.
24. Pillsbury Hot Cocoa Cinnamon Rolls
This is just...wow. Pillsbury is winning the holiday game with these new hot cocoa cinnamon rolls. But can you actually still call them cinnamon rolls if they don't have any cinnamon? Instead, it's a hot cocoa-flavored filling wrapped up in a flaky dough. And the frosting? Marshmallow glaze. DELICIOUS. If they started making these all year round, I wouldn't be upset.
