Fans and co-stars of Kristoff St. John, best known for his portrayal of Neil Winters on the long-running soap opera The Young and The Restless, are in disbelief after reports of his death surfaced.
The actor was reportedly found dead in his San Fernando Valley home on Sunday by a friend who wanted to check up on him, reports TMZ.
Police and paramedics were called to the house, where the actor was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the celebrity news website, St. John's cause of death has not been revealed, but no foul play is suspected.
People magazine reached out to the Los Angeles Police Department, who confirmed that they did investigate a death around 2:05 p.m. on Sunday for a possible alcohol overdose.
St. John's last interaction with fans was on January 21 when he retweeted a tweet about losing a child.
Grieving the loss of a child is a process. It begins on the day your child passes, and ends the day the parent joins them.

St. John has had to deal with some heavy personal issues over the last few years, including losing his 24-year-old son, Julian, in 2014.
Julian, whose mother is St. John's ex-wife Mia, committed suicide while getting treatment at a hospital in Long Beach, California. St. John filed a wrongful death suit against the hospital for failing to protect his son, who battled Schizophrenia and was considered a high risk patient.
Unfortunately, St. John never fully came to terms with his loss, and in 2017, he threatened to take his own life.
St. John allegedly sent photos of himself holding a gun to his head to a former lover, who then alerted the cops.
The Emmy-award winning actor was transported to a hospital and was put on psychiatric hold just a month shy of his son's death anniversary.
In the midst of his recovery, the actor took to Facebook to thank his fans for their support and reassure them that he would "never, ever go back in time to repeat such dark behavior."
"I love my family and friends way too much. Thank you for supporting me and standing by the St. John family," he added.

Up until now, St. John appeared to be in a much better and happier place. In September 2018, he announced his engagement to model Kseniya Mikhaleva.
Mikehaleva addressed her fiance's death on social media, questioning why he was taken so early.
"So early...so early," she wrote on her Instagram story. "Why are you leave so early?" she wrote. "Why...you are always in my heart."
In another post she asked, "How did it happen ??? How ??? Why did you leave so early ???? and left me alone ..... I can't believe. You were everything to me .... you were a loving father, a loving man .....how."
Mia, who also shares daughter Paris with St. John, also took to social media to address his death in a now-deleted tweet.
"THAT HOSPITAL KILLED OUR SON @TheArtofJulian THEN MY HUSBAND @kristoffstjohn1 THATS WHAT HAPPENED! THEY KILLED MY FAMILY," she wrote, according to TMZ.
More information about St. John's tragic death will be available once police wraps up their investigation and an autopsy is performed.
In addition to Paris, St. John is survived by Lola, his daughter with ex-wife Allana Nadal.
