The Kardashian family is arguably the most famous family in the world, and while it may seem like the siblings have been working forever, that's not necessarily true.
Despite what we may think, the Kardashian kids grew up with a relatively normal childhood, that is until their father Robert infamously defended O.J. Simpson during his murder trial. They instantly became household names, especially during Robert and Kris' high-profile divorce.
For five years in the 90s, including the O.J. trial, the Kardashians employed Pam Behan as their nanny. She drove the kids to and from school, extra curricular activities, and was even around for Kim's first date.
During an interview for Scandal Made Me Famous, Behan opened up about not only the workload that came with being the Kardashian's nanny, but also what it was like to work for Kris Jenner.
"On a daily basis, when [Jenner] has a very long list and you're fighting L.A. traffic and taking kids to their events, and maybe possibly not everything on the list gets done," Behan explained. There were a few moments where I got an earful."
"At first, I used to be just crushed when she would speak to me like that," she said. "But she vents, she speaks what's on her mind."
In an interview with The Daily Mail, Behan recounted a time that Jenner got angry at her for forgetting to pick up broccoli.
"When I got home, Kris, who was in the kitchen, looked at the groceries I had just purchased, and let out a torrent of expletives. "$#&%! $#&%! $#&%! I can't believe you forgot the $#&%ing broccoli!" Behan recalled. "Broccoli was not on the short list she had given me that day, although it was a regular item on the weekly list. I did not know, shame on me, that keeping broccoli stocked in the refrigerator was so critical."
Behan also released a book on her time as the Kardashian nanny, called Malibu Nanny: Adventures of the Former Kardashian Nanny, in which she revealed her theory that Jenner was "grooming" her kids for celebrity.
"Kris always seemed to be rubbing elbows with people that were "˜somebody,'" Behan wrote. "Kourtney, Kim, Khloe and Robert spent time with friends whose parents were celebrities or people in the limelight. I believe she was grooming her children for their current celebrity status their entire lives... I do believe that the success they enjoy now is what she always hoped for and wanted for them and for herself."
Though Behan stopped working for the Kardashians after the birth of Kris and Caitlyn Jenner's daughter, Kendall, they still maintained a close friendship. She hopes that she "made a difference in their lives," and still respects the reality TV matriarch.
"I liked Kris and I respected her for many reasons," Behan says in Scandal Made Me Famous. "She was not easy to work for because she was a perfectionist and she expected perfection. She wasn't easy to work for, but I did enjoy my job."
The full episode of Scandal Made Me Famous will air on July 21st at 9pm on the Reelz channel.
