Last week, former Sex and the City star Kim Cattrall's family were hit with an unexpected tragedy. The actress's 55-year-old brother, Chris, was found dead after going missing from his home in Alberta, Canada.
Catrall, 61, initially shared an Instagram post about Chris's disappearance, revealing that he was last seen on January 30th.
"His keys, cell phone, & wallet left on the table and his front door unlocked. This is not like Chris. He would never leave his unlocked home without those items nor his 7 beloved dogs," Cattrall wrote in the caption. She added, "He's a one of a kind brother. Help us bring him home safe. Please spread the world. Many thanks for reading this."
Fans and Cattrall's fellow celebrities offered their support during the difficult time, so when Chris's body was found, the actress took to social media again to share the terrible news.
"It is with great sadness that myself and my family announce the unexpected passing of our son and brother, Chris Cattrall," Cattrall wrote on Twitter. "At this time we ask for privacy. We want to thank you all on social media for your outpouring of love and support in this trying time."
Soon after, Cattrall sent out another tweet in which she thanked her followers and former castmates for their support.
"I would like to thank my fans, friends, and my #SexandtheCity colleagues for the outpouring of support for myself and family over the past 72 hours."
However, there is one person that the actress had no desire to thank: her former co-star Sarah Jessica Parker. Cattrall had some choice words for her in the wake of her brother's death, and the exchange was very awkward.
The former on-screen have apparently been in a feud with each other for a couple of years now, and it just got uglier.
After Cattrall announced her loss, Parker offered her condolences but it did not go over well.
"I don't need your love or support at this tragic time @sarahjessicaparker," read the message on an image Cattrall shared.
She paired it with the caption: "My Mom asked me today 'When will that @sarahjessicaparker, that hypocrite, leave you alone? Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now."
"Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven't already) You are not my family. You are not my friend," she added. "So I'm writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your 'nice girl' persona."
Parker has not responded to Cattrall's latest comments, but she has previously denied that there was anything going on between them. She simply chalked up the rumors to the cast's behavior on set.
"I take very seriously my reputation," she said. "I work really hard and I treat people well...I have a work ethic that's very meaningful to me, and it's based on the affection I feel for the people I get to work with."
Cattrall's side of the story is a far cry from Parker's. During an interview with Piers Morgan, she explained that she is not friends with any of the women she worked with on the hit TV show.
"We've never been friends," she said. "We've been colleagues and in some ways that's a very healthy place to be because then you have a clear line between your professional life and relationship and your personal."
Parker then opened up to Bravo's Andy Cohen about being "heartbroken" over Cattrall's interview.
"I found it very upsetting cause that's not the way I recall our experience," Parker admitted.
It's difficult to pinpoint exactly when the women stopped getting along, but many believe that it's all because of jealously. According to sources close to both actresses, Parker was jealous of Cattrall's character because she was a fan favorite, and got more screen time as a result, while Cattrall was jealous of Parker because she was getting paid twice as much as everyone else.
