While actress and Live! with Kelly and Ryan co-host Kelly Ripa and her husband, All My Children alum Mark Consuelos, have opened up many parts of their lives to the public, they wanted their children to have childhoods as normal as possible, so they did their best to shield them from the spotlight.
For decades, we only got occasional glimpses of Michael, Lola Grace, and Joaquin as they attended events alongside their famous parents.
However, that's all changing now that they've gotten older and social media exists.
Michael recently turned 21, and his mother marked the milestone with a touching tribute on Instagram.
"21 years ago today the galaxy was shooketh!" she wrote in the caption of a video filled with several photos of her oldest son. "Happy birthday HE! We love you BIG,"
A few days later, Kelly returned to the photo and video-sharing platform to post another photo of one of her kids, and this time she showed off her daughter, Lola.
The 16-year-old has previously given her mom flack for posting her pictures on Instagram, but that hasn't really stopped Kelly.
"I'm, like, 'I am not sure why you are robbing me of the privilege that all the other parents, like, all the other parents get to immediately post their photos on Instagram, why can't I?' And they're like, 'You know why,'" Kelly said on Live!
It seems like Lola, who turns 17 next week, has made a rare exception so her mother can post a picture of her heading off to prom.
"Prom night 2018 âââââ," the proud mom captioned the shot.
For her big night, Lola looked gorgeous in a simple spaghetti strap lavender dress with a high side split and ruched sides. She tied the look together with a white rose corsage that matched her date's boutonniere.
Kelly revealed on Live! that she and Mark have a set of rules, including curfew, that Lola had to follow on prom night.
"I had never seen a kid negotiate a contract this way, and then at a certain point she had us negotiating against ourselves. She is that good," kelly admitted. "She was truly remarkable in her getting extra time out of us, and then she did the baller move of all baller moves: She showed up a little early so we were like, 'She's so responsible!' Even though she had negotiated a full two hours past what time we had thought was appropriate. She came home 15 minutes early, and she's like, 'See? I'm home.'"
Lola has definitely inherited her parents' good looks, but fans couldn't help but notice just how much she really looked like Kelly in this particular photo.
"I can see her Mommy in that beautiful face!!" wrote one user.
While Lola and Kelly may not see eye to eye when it comes to social media usage, the mother-daughter pair have a close relationship nonetheless.
Last year, Lola accompanied her mother to a couple of events, including the New Jersey Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.
When Kelly was tapped to host the CNN Heroes-All Star Tribute Event in New York City, Lola was her date for the night.
They walked the red carpet together and we all had the chance to see just how much she's growing up to become a beautiful and confident woman.
The teen stole the spotlight from her mother in a bubblegum pink sweater dress, nude pumps, and dainty gold jewelry.
Last November, she made a surprise guest appearance on Live! With Kelly and Ryan, and joined her mother for a Thanksgiving cooking segment.
The teen joked about her younger brother being Kelly's favorite child.
"I don't have favorites," Kelly replied. "I only have least favorites."
The pair's light banter has also made it onto social media. Kelly posted a photo of Mark in a scene from Riverdale (he plays Hiram Lodge on the show), and Lola commented "Stop posting Riverdale photos we get it."
Kelly jokingly replied, "Imma block you in a minute."
So many celebrity children act out and go down the wrong path, so it's really nice to see Lola have such a close and sweet relationship with her mom and dad.
