Amassing even a few hundred followers on social media can prove to be a very difficult task for the average person.
But for Julia Roberts, who is obviously far from average, joining Instagram meant hundreds of thousands of fans would instantly be supporting her.
The Pretty Woman star, who previously avoided social media, finally caved in and joined the photo sharing platform in June.
In just six months, she has gained over three million followers, but she recently learned that she could have a lot more.
While making an appearance on a recent episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Roberts discovered that the funny host has 60 million followers on Instagram.
Shocked by the big number, Roberts decided to take some drastic measures in order to gain more followers.
"I should have at least 51 million then!" Roberts joked, referring to her age.
DeGeneres, who claims to be an Instagram expert, decided to help Roberts, suggesting that she channel the Kardashian sisters, whose risqué photos have earned them millions of social media fans.
Roberts then underwent a "makeover, which saw her posing in front of a tropical backdrop while dressed in a Kardashian-esque beachwear and fake cleavage.
However, Roberts seemed to have had a change of mind after she saw her new look.
"I guess I'm supposed to want followers," she said, "but right now I'm not sure."
Always ready to deliver a surprise, DeGeneres made Roberts feel even more embarrassed when she brought out Martha Stewart and Roberts' My Best Friend's Wedding costar Dermot Mulroney.
"As always, stunning," Mulroney said before giving the actress a hug and a peck on the cheek.
