Jon Gosselin Hints At Custody Battle In Father's Day Post

This weekend plenty of celebrity dads shared happy, smiling photos of themselves bonding with their children.

But when Jon Gosselin shared a photo of himself with his daughter, Hannah, he revealed his long-standing custody battle with his ex-wife, Kate, could be entering a new chapter.

Jon and Kate came to fame for raising their eight children - a pair of twins and a group of sextuplets - in front of the world on their reality TV show.

But only one of Jon's children, his daughter Hannah, was by his side on Father's Day.

Hannah posed with Jon and his girlfriend, Colleen Conrad, on Instagram, as he wished her and the other sextuplets a happy birthday.

Hannah also shared her own Father's Day post, a collage of photos showing her with Jon and a sweet message.

"I love you so much," she wrote, "[you're] the best dad anyone could ever ask for I love our late night ice cream runs together [you're] the best."

But despite the smiles, Jon hinted at serious trouble brewing in a comment under his photo.

"Where are all the other kids?" a fan asked him. "They should all be with you?"

"Should be is not always possible when 'certain' people are involved," Jon replied, "and don't want the best for their children."

More custody trouble

Jon and Kate have been locked in a bitter custody battle since their highly publicized divorce in 2009.

Jon once complained that Kate limits his visits, so he can only see four of his children at a time.

In 2016, he confessed that it had likely been "three to four years" since he saw all of his kids together.

He also hasn't been shy about criticizing Kate for her controlling and demanding attitude.

So the amount of time Jon has spent with Hannah in recent months - getting ice cream, going on road trips, and visiting the "missing Gosselin" Collin - has some fans suspicious.

Remember, in 2016 Kate filed a police report against Jon for "inappropriate behavior" and having a "suspicious relationship" with Hannah.

Jon dismissed the allegations, saying that Kate was trying to control their daughter.

Social media sleuths are convinced that Jon has gained custody of Hannah in recent months, and a new legal fight between the couple could prove them right.

This month, it was revealed that Kate is trying to get more than $132,000 in child support payments from Jon, which his lawyers call "an inappropriate amount."

A specific piece of wording in the response from Jon's lawyers says that the amount is related to "a petition to modify custody."

So far it's unclear if Jon and Kate's custody agreement is changing, but it's safe to say some of his children are happy to keep living with Kate.

Jon and Kate's oldest children, the 17-year-old twins Mady and Cara, have been outspoken about their troubled relationship with their father.

"He makes it seem like we're being kept from him, which is insane," Mady told People.

"He should maybe spend some time thinking about why we don't want to see him, and maybe realize that if he ever does want a relationship with us, talking about us on TV is not the way to make that happen."

For the record, Jon insists he's just "a regular dad trying to spend as much time with my kids as possible," but only time will tell how much that is.
