John Stamos Welcomes First Child, And The Name Will Make You Say "Aww"

Full House star John Stamos and his new wife, actress Caitlin McHugh, have added a new chapter to their Disney-inspired fairy tale, and it's the most adorable yet.

The couple's story started around two years ago, but they kept their relationship under wraps for a while before going public.

A few months into their romance, Stamos dropped a hint that he had a girlfriend while appearing on The View.

"The other night [during a concert], I grabbed my phone 'cause this girl I'm dating ... she loves this song, "˜Disney Girls,'" the actor explained. "So I put on FaceTime. ... I thought I could get away with but people were tweeting, "˜Who are you FaceTiming?!'"

About a year and a half later, in October 2017, the lovebirds announced their engagement.

Stamos, 54, proposed to McHugh, 32, while they were vacationing at their favorite theme park, Disneyland.

According to a statement from the actor's rep, Stamos pulled out all the stops to make sure the moment would be unforgettable.

"He cut together a film of some of the most romantic moments in Disney and Pixar animation," Stamos' rep revealed. "The film concluded with Sebastian from The Little Mermaid encouraging John to "˜Just ask the girl.' Caitlin said yes, then John whisked her to 21 Royal where they shared the news and celebrated with their families."

The actor later shared a sketch of what appears to be him and McHugh in front of Cinderella's castle along with the caption, "I asked...she said yes! ...And we lived happily ever after💍"

The pair barely had a chance to pick a wedding date when they found out that they were going to become first-time parents.

Stamos and The Vampire Diaries actress shared the happy news exclusively with People Magazine, and he admitted that he "has been practicing for a long time."

Although he was surprised by the news, the ER actor said he "always wanted to be a dad," and it was a topic he and his fiancee previously "talked about."

"We have the same morals and the same values, that all clicked nicely. So we said, "˜Oh, well, maybe we should have a family,'" said Stamos.

"The [pregnancy] happened. Then I said, I better have a ring on her finger because it's the right thing to do, and I wanted to marry her anyway," Stamos explained. "So I called her parents to ask, and it was like, "˜You better!'"

Now, Stamos and McHugh have welcomed their first child, and the name they chose has so much significance.

Just a little over two months after their February 3rd wedding, Stamos and McHugh announced the birth of their son.

The actor took to Instagram to share the news of the baby's arrival, but he skimped out on certain details, including when the baby was born.

However, Stamos shared one very important detail about his son, and it has everyone saying "aww."

The new father revealed that they named their first-born Billy, after Stamos' father.

"From now on, the best part of me will always be my wife and my son. Welcome Billy Stamos (named after my father)," Stamos, 54, captioned a photo of the newborn laying on his chest. "#NotJustanUncleAnymore #Overjoyed"

Stamos' father, William "Bill" John Stamos passed away in 1989, but the actor has always tried his best to honor his legacy.

In the months leading up to his son's arrival, he opened up about his fears of not being as good of a father as his late dad was.

In December, he posted a sentimental throwback black-and-white photo with his late dad and captioned it: "I will certainly fall short of the father my pop was, but - I'm going to give it my all!"

"You know how you put your father on a pedestal, and he's a superhero, and then as you grow older you go, 'Ah, he's just a man?' I never got to that point," Stamos told People. "Til the day he died, he was just bigger than life for me."

Stamos also told the magazine that his only regret is not becoming a father earlier in life so his parents could meet his children.

Despite his worries, Stamos says he's ready to be a doting dad.

"I'll be a fun dad. I've been practicing for a long time," he said jokingly. "I've done every schtick you can do with a baby on TV... all the bits and jokes and diaper gags. I'll probably just do all that stuff."

McHugh is also very convinced her husband won't have any problems getting the hang of his new off-screen role.

"I greatly admire his originality, creativity, ambition, work ethic and humor "” all qualities I'm sure he'll pass down to his child," she said. "He's always been wonderful with kids, and I'm sure he will be an amazing father."

We have no doubts that Stamos and McHugh will be great parents. Little Billy has a lot of Disney movies and trips to Disneyland to look forward to.

Congratulations to the new parents!
