You may think that it is too early, I mean, it isn't even Thanksgiving yet, but for fans of Christmas advertisement campaigns, it is already the most wonderful time of the year.
One of the most anticipated holiday-themed ads has finally released and it was definitely worth waiting an entire year for.
Department store chain John Lewis is honoring its tradition of releasing an emotion-driven annual christmas advert and this year is no different.
A few weeks ago, a source told Ok! Magazine that this year's ad will be nothing like rest.
"This year the John Lewis advert will revolve around a big cuddly monster," explained the source. "If you can imagine a cross between the Gruffalo and a huge, cute teddy bear, that's the angle they've gone for. Filming for the advert wrapped a couple of months ago but they've been doing a lot of post production to get the special effects just right.
"Families are going to love the finished product, it's a really emotional advert with a lovely ending."
Well, they were telling the truth.
The U.K-based company premiered their much-awaited advert this week and it'll have you reaching for the tissues because the happy tears will be streaming down your face.
John Lewis's latest campaign features a giant imaginary monster called Moz, who lives underneath the bed of a young boy.
The ad tells the story of the boy's friendship with the monster under his bed, set to a cover of "Golden Slumbers" by The Beatles.
The ad is directed by the Oscar-winning Michel Gondry, and he had some big shoes to fill.
"When I told my ex-girlfriend I was doing the next John Lewis Christmas film she said, 'You have big shoes to fill, this John Lewis commercial must make people cry, don't forget'," explained Gondry. "Last week I showed it to her and she cried. Phew."
Gondry succeeded in warming plenty more hearts and making even more people cry.
Omg a farting, snoring monster! Absolutely love it I didn't know whether to laugh or cry so did both. @johnlewisretail you've done it again. 😢ðŸ˜â¤ï¸ #MozTheMonster

The monster knew he was stopping his young friend from sleeping, so he did what was best for his friend, and gave him a nightlight for Christmas, which sadly in turn kept away the monster.

He gave his life for his friend. Pass the xmas tissues now. 😪
However, not everyone is on board with the ad and its message.
Terrible effort by @johnlewisretail this year. Very disappointing indeed. #MozTheMonster #Rubbish #NoEmotion 👎ðŸ»ðŸ‘ŽðŸ»

Bland, dull, unimaginative, right-on drivel. Didn't know whether to vomit or shite, so did both. Does @Guy_Garvey have no shame? #musttryharder

Even former America's Got Talent judge Piers Morgan weighed in on the matter.
Nope, not feeling it. Sorry. 👎 https://t.co/BeawC7qUPM
