John Carter Cash, the only son of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash, recently announced the arrival of a very precious addition to the Carter-Cash family tree!

The 47-year-old musician and author of his own memoir, House of Cash: the Legacies of My Father, Johnny Cash, opened up to People about how excited he was to be welcoming a new baby into the world:

"My wife Ana Cristina and I are so blessed to announce a new addition to our family," he said. "We are grateful to all of our friends and family for their continued support."

Honoring the family name is important to Carter Cash. As the caretaker of his parents' legacy, he makes sure to follow his father's guiding principles.

"That's one thing that's been my creed with Dad "” try to run it as if he were still sitting in the room," he told Rolling Stone.

There's another way that he's honoring the family name and it comes in the form of a precious baby girl...

All grown-up now, John Carter Cash if the proud father of a newborn baby girl!

The only son of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash announced to the world that he and his wife,  Ana Cristina Cash, also an American singer-songwriter, would be expecting their first child together.

"We are so thrilled that God is blessing us with a precious little girl," Ana said in an interview with PEOPLE. "My husband John Carter and I are completely over the moon about the news and we can't wait for the arrival of our baby daughter."

Little Grace is John and Ana's first child together. John is the father of three children from previous marriages: Jack, 11, AnnaBelle 15, and Joseph John, 21.

On September 11, Carter Cash and his wife welcomed their beautiful baby girl named Grace June Cash. The little beauty was born on September 11 at 5:44 p.m.

Eagle-eyed fans have already pointed out how long and slender little Grace's fingers are - she must have been born to play the guitar! Only time will tell...
