My my, how time flies.
Just a month ago, when Jennifer Lopez stopped by Ellen, the talk show host gave her a clock with her and boyfriend Alex Rodriguez's faces on it - a subtle reminder to him that he was long overdue to pop the question.
This weekend, the former pro baseball player finally found his courage, and Lopez said yes!
The couple were quick to share photos of their stunning engagement rings, as Rodriguez posted a behind-the-scenes video of his set up for the special moment.
The couple had been dating for over two years before Rodriguez, 43, got down on one knee during their trip to the Bahamas, and announced the happy news with matching Instagram posts on Saturday night.
He wrote "she said yes," while Lopez, 49, captioned the photo with a string of heart emojis. The cheeky Lopez also tagged Ellen DeGeneres in her photo - a subtle way of saying, "get off Alex's back, please."
While there are no specific details on the huge ring Lopez sports in the photo, the diamond jewelry is estimated to be worth at least $1 million. An expert appraiser told E! News that the gem looks to be 10 carats in an emerald cut (other experts put the gem closer to 15 or even 20 carats).
Rodriguez, the big softie, also posted Biana Sparacino's definition of "Soulmate" on his Instagram story in the hours leading up to the big news:
A soulmate isn't someone who completes you. No, a soulmate is someone who inspires you to complete yourself. A soulmate is someone who loves you with so much conviction, and so much heart, that it is nearly impossible to doubt just how capable you are of becoming exactly who you have always wanted to be.
The mood turned from sweet to sultry on Saturday night, when Rodgriguez posted a video of a bed with "I ♥ U" written in rose petals. Lopez walked into the room - following a trail of the petals - before Rodriguez stopped recording.
We can only guess what these two have planned for their wedding, but it's a sure bet that it will be an expensive, star-studded affair. After all, Ellen DeGeneres has already offered to be Lopez's Maid of Honor.
This will be the fourth try at marriage for Lopez - whose former husbands include singer Marc Anthony and actor Cris Judd - while Rodriguez has been married once before.
They also both have children from their previous marriages: Lopez shared 10-year-old twins Max and Emme with Marc Anthony, while Rodriguez has a pair of daughters - Natasha, 14, and Ella, 10 - from a previous marriage.
