Another Duggar grandbaby has arrived! Jinger Duggar and her husband, Jeremy Vuolo, announced on Thursday that they had welcomed their first child into the world.
Jinger and Jeremy were married in November of 2016, and caused a bit of a stir when they waited to have kids. However, they announced in April that they were expecting their first child and everyone was thrilled!
The past fourteen months have been the best of our lives as we have had the wonderful privilege of beginning our journey through life together in marriage. We both looked forward to the joys of marriage but neither one of us fully understood just how amazing the start of this journey would be. Truly, the Lord's mercies are new every morning! Now, the journey has taken an exciting turn: we are expecting our first child. We are praising God for this beautiful gift and ask that you join us in praying for a safe and healthy pregnancy.
In a statement to People, Jeremy confirmed that Jinger gave birth at 4:27 a.m. on July 19. The little girl weighed 8lbs 3oz., and was 19.5 inches long
"God is so kind," Jeremy said. "Both mom and baby are healthy, doing great, and resting well. We are very thankful for her safe arrival and look forward to life as parents!"
As for the little girl's name? It's pretty cute. The couple went with Felicity Nicole Vuolo, which is somewhat of an adventurous name for the conservative family. Although, when your name is Jinger, I guess you have free reign to think a little outside the box!
There's no indication as to why the couple chose the name Felicity, but Nicole is also Jinger's middle name, so that was probably a major factor.
Jeremy announced the news of Felicity's birth on his Instagram page, simply stating "Happy birthday, baby girl."
Jinger followed suit with a similar post, saying "Dear sweet girl, welcome to the world. ~ Mom"
Felicity is the 12th grandchild for Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, although surely there will be more to come!
Congratulations to Jinger and Jeremy, and welcome to the world Felicity!
