Jenelle Evans Facing Criticism After Implying Her Toddler Has An Eating Disorder

Jenelle Evans is certainly one of the more controversial cast members on MTV's Teen Mom. This past February, Evans was the guest on a podcast where she revealed that during her third pregnancy with daughter Ensley, she used drugs.

"I'm not going to lie about that. I tested positive for THC, and Ensley did not test positive. I did," Evans said. "So [Child Protective Services] were like"”I was in the hospital"”they said, 'Did you smoke when you were pregnant?' I said, 'I did within the past 30 days. I said I have really bad esophageal spasms and I throw up every 5 minutes, I can't even eat.' And they said, 'OK, some moms do that. We are not here to judge, we are writing down your information.'"

Evans, who is also a mom to eight-year-old Jace and three-year-old Kaiser, became famous for her explosive outbursts with her mother Barbara, who holds primary custody of Jace.

Evans has publicly stated numerous times that she has changed since her Teen Mom debut, where she freaked out because her jail time was going to potentially limit her ability to attend a Kesha concert.

While it would be nice to believe that Jenelle is really improving, a segment from a recent Teen Mom episode, and Jenelle's reaction, has a lot of people worried.

At breakfast, the family was sitting around the table when Kaiser announced that he had to poop. Instead of, you know, letting the toddler go to the bathroom like most parents would, Jenelle and her husband David (not Kaiser's father) get mad.

"No! You already did this morning!" Jenelle tells him.

Kaiser then again insists that he has to poop, saying "I'm going to poop in my pants."

"If you poop in your pants, you're going to be in big trouble mister," David angrily chimes in. "You just went to the potty. Stop it. Eat your food."

Fans were alarmed that the parents wouldn't let a toddler go to the bathroom when he states multiple times that he has to. According to the girlfriend of Nathan Griffith, Kaiser's dad, it happens on numerous occasions.

"This isn't the first time kaiser told [Nathan] & I he was not allowed to go potty," Ashley wrote on social media. "Probably why when he pees the bed at night he tries to hide it by changing his clothes and hiding them. Before someone tries to poke holes in my story, Kaiser did not use the exact words "˜I'm not allowed.' I stated that referencing what he has told us multiple times. ANY time he says he has to go potty [Nathan] takes him. No matter how many times a day he says it."

Evans took to Twitter to try and deal with the drama, and ended up retweeting a story from another Twitter user that confused people.

"My daughter (11) has an eating disorder," the user wrote. "Was hospitalized for it for three months this year.. She did this frequently (going to the bathroom) to use eating disorder behaviors. Good for you for catching on and not allowing him to go. I say ALL the time she isn't allowed to go."

Obviously, this stirred up some controversy. To imply that a three year old has an eating disorder is a little far fetched, and just a terrible cover up. For Jenelle to compare her toddler who is in the middle of potty training to a preteen who is legitimately struggling with body issues didn't sit well at all.

"I highly HIGHLY doubt a 3 year old has an eating disorder," wrote @MrsCannasutra.

"Yeah great comparison. The preteen who's been toilet trained for years (hopefully) to the toddler who is just getting out of diapers. She did the right thing, don't want Kaiser purging the dinner he hasn't eaten yet " wrote @Youretheworst2.

"Of course you would retweet the one person who sided with you even though anyone with a brain knows this was all verbal abuse abuse and not an eating disorder," added another.

Kids Health explains that eating disorders in children don't appear until at least age seven, and even that is rare, so it is highly unlikely that Kaiser is dealing with one at three.

Obviously everything is blown out of proportion when you're a reality star, and social media makes everything seem worse than it is. That being said, with Jenelle's shady past, it's understandable why people are upset.

Do you think Jenelle crossed a line by implying Kaiser has an eating disorder?
