Bananas are great to eat, but kind of a pain to store. They tend to ripen too quickly and then all the sudden all those fresh bananas are mushy and gross!
The easiest way to keep them fresh without switching to an all-banana diet is by freezing them. There is a quick and easy way to freeze them properly to avoid freezer burn so that they will last for a long time.
Directions:
Start by picking the ripest bananas you have and peel them.
Cut the banana into four equal pieces.
When all your bananas are cut up, line a baking sheet in parchment paper and spread the chunks out on it. Make sure they are not touching.
Put it the freezer like this for 30 minutes. This will make sure your bananas don't stick together once you put them in a bag.
Once they are frozen put them in a Ziplock bag and label them. They will stay good for about 4 months.
Then you will have fresh bananas to use for smoothies, baking or just as a yummy snack!
