Known as one the greatest actresses in Hollywood history, Bette Davis continues to leave her mark on familiar faces in the industry.
With a long Hollywood career that started in 1931, she worked until 1989 in film, theater and even appeared on TV.
She had a gift for playing unlikable characters and had a reputation of being tough off-screen, as well. In an age where women who spoke their minds were dismissed as difficult, she became a beacon for women.
She famously was known from throwing shade at her rivals including Joan Crawford.
"Why am I so good at playing bitches? I think it's because I'm not a bitch. Maybe that's why [Joan Crawford] always plays ladies," she was caught saying.
She became the first person to secure ten Academy Award nominations for acting and only three people have surpassed her since.
Hilary Duff has now added a new design to her extensive collection of tattoos and its the perfect tribute to the Hollywood star.
Created by celebrity tattoo artist, Dr. Woo, the simple ink inscription was a perfect tribute to the legendary actress.
The simple script read, "Take Foundation."
Davis had famously uttered the line when Johnny Carson asked her for the best way an actress starting out in Hollywood to not miss a beat. Her reply to him was "Take Foundation."
A lot of people refer to this advice when stuck in Los Angeles traffic. Fountain Avenue is in Hollywood and serves as a quicker route to the congested parallel of Santa Monica and Sunset Boulevards.
"Just a super tiny reminder on , one of the best tips when you are driving in LA via #bettedavis ðŸ§," Woo wrote in the caption of his Instagram post, revealing the new tattoo.
In 2015, the 30-year-old actress revealed to Ellen Degeneres that she had 12 tattoos.
"I have a bunch of little guys inside my arms," she said. "I think that part of me loves tattoos and part of me doesn't want the full commitment to getting to see them all the time. So, when my arms are down I look just like a normie and when my arms are out I look super hardcore, like a gangster."
