Heartbreaking Statement From Queen Elizabeth On Her 94th Birthday

Queen Elizabeth was born on April 21 1926; this year she turned 94.

The Queen usually celebrates twice, once on April 21 and again in June with an event referred to as Trooping the Colour. Though it was set to take place on June 13, 2020, Buckingham Palace have announced that the event will not go ahead due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Her April 21 birthday is usually a time for private celebrations with family. The only official measures taken on this day are gun salutes in London at midday. This year, even those were cancelled, for the first time in her reign. A spokesman for Buckingham Palace said: β€œHer Majesty was keen that no special measures were put in place to allow gun salutes as she did not feel it appropriate in the current circumstances."

Kensington Palace, the official social media account of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared this photo saying: "Wishing Her Majesty The Queen a very happy 94th birthday today! πŸŽ‚πŸŽˆ"

The official Instagram handle for the Royal Family shared rare footage of the Queen throughout the years.

"Head of the Commonwealth, Head of the Armed Forces, Head of State in 16 countries and the longest reigning Monarch in British History. Wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Happy birthday, Your Majesty!"

Prince Charles shared a throwback picture of himself in a crib with the young Queen, with this lovely message: "Wishing Her Majesty The Queen a very Happy 94th Birthday ".

Princess Eugenie shared some radiant images along with these words:

"Wishing a very Happy 94th Birthday to Her Majesty. ⁣⁣May today bring joy in a time when families can't be together celebrating with one another. β£πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰ All my love 😍"

A representative for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle confirmed that the couple, along with their son Archie had a video call with the Queen today, wishing her a happy birthday.

The Queen did not think of herself on her 94th spin around the earth. Instead choosing to send their condolences to the Governor General and Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia, Canada regarding a mass shooting that killed 19 people over the weekend.

"Prince Philip and I have been deeply saddened by the appalling events in Nova Scotia, and we send our condolences to the friends, friends and colleagues of those who have lost their lives,” the statement begins.

The Queen is said to have spent the day privately in Windsor Castle with Prince Philip. They have been isolating there since the outbreak began.
