While "Blen" is still going strong, it seems like this celebrity power couple just can't catch a break this year.
Since they started dating in 2015, The Voice judges Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have been the subject of a lot of gossip, especially since they got together just after a pair of famous splits - a divorce from Gavin Rossdale for Gwen, while Blake and Miranda Lambert went their separate ways.
And while Gwen seems to fit right in with Blake's country singer lifestyle (she revealed she'll be giving him wildebeests for his ranch this Christmas) there was even more controversy when Blake was named People's "Sexiest Man Alive" earlier this year.
Blake himself joked about the honor, saying "Y'all must be running out of people. Like, wow, we're down to somebody who is somewhat symmetrical." But other readers didn't share the singer's sense of humor.
Proving she's not afraid to stand by her man, Gwen took the chance to clear the air about Blake's title during her appearance on Ellen last week. She admits she "convinced" Blake to accept the honor, but she has something to say to his haters too.
Gwen stopped by the chat show to promote her new Christmas album, You Make It Feel Like Christmas, but of course her famous beau came up too.
"Now is it true that you convinced him to do this?" Ellen asked, referencing the fact that Gwen urged Blake to accept the honor from People magazine.
"It is true!" the singer explained. "I feel totally responsible because he's so not that guy, he doesn't even like to do a photoshoot! You can never convince him to do it. So he just called me and was like, 'They want me to do this,' and I was like 'You should totally do it!'"
In the end, Gwen had to remind the shrewd businessman that being on the cover would bump up sales of Blake's own Christmas album, Texoma Shore. But she still insists Blake deserves the title.
"It's a PEOPLE magazine cover and people are taking it so seriously," she said.
"If you think about it, what defines sexy? It really is so personal. For me it's just that big old heart and that sense of humor, you know? He doesn't even take himself seriously, and he's just such an incredible person."
But Gwen did tease that the honor has turned Blake into a bit of a primadonna.
"It's getting to him," she joked. "It's tough to be around him now."
