Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital's Dr.Owen Hunt hasn't been very lucky when it comes to romantic relationships.
Since joining Grey's Anatomy in the fifth season, he has been linked to a number of women including Dr. Christina Yang and Dr. Amelia Shepherd, both of whom he married at one point. Unfortunately, all of his relationships were nothing short of complicated.
It did not help that he struggled with PTSD after being discharged from the military, and that he had to deal with many extremely stressful situations, including a lawsuit, as the hospital's Chief of Surgery.
Thankfully, real life is way less dramatic for the actor behind the character, Kevin McKidd.
The Scottish-born actor recently confirmed on his personal website that he got married to personal chef Arielle Goldrath.
The couple, who aren't very active on social media, have kept a relatively low profile, but they were dating for over a year before tying the knot.
However, just because his life is better offscreen, it doesn't mean that he hasn't had some ups and downs, especially when it comes to love. McKidd was previously married to Jane Parker for 17 years, and they welcomed two kids, daughter Iona, 15, and son Joseph, 17, before parting ways in 2016.
Their divorce was finalized this past December, so McKidd and Goldrath were able to say "I do" shortly after.
Along with the announcement, McKidd shared a beautiful photo of him and his new wife walking down the aisle, and also revealed that they were expecting a baby.
The 44-year-old actor shared the exciting news in a post titled " Very Happy, Very Big News!"
"Arielle and I are so happy to announce our marriage and new baby, who is soon to join our growing family," the star wrote.
He also briefly touched on some of the details of their wedding, which incorporated elements that reflects his Scottish roots. The nuptials took place at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, California, and McKidd wore a traditional green kilt, while Goldrath wore a fitted lace gown.
The ceremony was officiated by Rabbi Emma Lutz, according to People.
"Close friends and family came together with my Grey's family to share in our celebration day "“ an intimate, low key gathering culminating in a Scottish Ceilidh dance," he continued.
The Trainspotting star added that his children "are happy for us too and are looking forward to the arrival of their newest sibling!"
"There's much to be grateful for and we're thrilled for the adventures 2018 will bring us all!" he concluded his message.
It's unclear when the baby is due, but we're sure McKidd will announce the child's arrival on his website, so we'll just have to stay tuned.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
