You would think that with summer being around the corner, the culinary world would embrace brighter food but to everyone's surprise dark-colored foods are popping up everywhere.
First there was squid-ink infused black pasta then black ice cream and now there's another treat to add to the list - black lattes.
We're all familiar with black coffee, but black lattes? Now that's something you don't see very often.
Unlike all the rainbow and unicorn-themed drinks that have surfaced in the last few months, black or goth lattes, are obviously darker, much healthier and very photogenic.
These lattes are infused with activated charcoal which gives them the signature dark hue. Activated charcoal is also known for its teeth whitening, detoxifying and purifying properties.
These refreshing new drinks are being served in several coffee shops in Australia and the U.K but it is only a matter of time until we get to enjoy it in the U.S.
