It's safe to say Gordon Ramsay knows a lot about food, but if you're not familiar with this culinary superstar here are the facts:
Throughout his career Ramsay has opened 49 restaurants around the world. He has earned 16 Michelin stars - the world's most prestigious restaurant award. On top of this, he has been the host of more than a dozen hit cooking shows and the author of 15 bestselling cookbooks.
Plus, he's sampled some of the world's worst food as the host of Kitchen Nightmares. So when Gordon Ramsay tells you there's one food he absolutely avoids with no exceptions, you should listen to him.
In a recent interview with Refinery 29, the fearless chef revealed that he will never eat any meal served to him on an airplane.
Ramsay explained that a former job cooking up designer menus for world-class carriers like Singapore Airlines convinced him to never try his in-flight meals.
"There's no f--- way I eat on planes," he said in his typically sweary way.
"I worked for airlines for ten years, so I know where this food's been and where it goes, and how long it took before it got on board."
Instead, he likes to "keep it light," usually by sampling some Italian food or appetizers at an airport restaurant before his flight.
Ramsay's the expert and we trust his opinion, but we're still seriously impressed by some of the gourmet meals luxury airlines serve.
If you're ever traveling through London, be sure to stop by Gordon Ramsay's Plane Food in terminal 5 of Heathrow Airport. If it has this masterchef's seal of approval, it must be good, and the restaurant lets you order a special to-go bag for your flight.
