No one ever wants to hear about engagements getting called off. But it's especially said when the couple has been together for so long.
Glee star Lauren Potter told PEOPLE magazine that she and her long-time boyfriend Timothy Spear are no longer engaged.
Potter was given a promise ring by her childhood-friend-turned-boyfriend last August and she couldn't have been more excited.
Potter has an accomplished life, not only with her SAG award nomination for Glee, but she was also appointed as a White House Advisor on the President's Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities.
The 26-year-old actress had just been speaking with Say Yes To The Dress and other wedding dress designers over the holidays, when Spear decided to end their relationship.
"He did not like the publicity," says Robin Sinkhorn, Potter's mom. "It was overwhelming."
"It hurts," admits Potter. "After we got married I wanted to wake up and see him make breakfast for me. I loved him so much."
Lauren Potter is already on the hunt to move on. She's hitting the gym for bikini season, going on some dates, and planning her future. If acting in Hollywood doesn't pan out, she's hoping to become a barista at Starbucks.
