The spookiest time of the year is adored by trick-or-treaters because it means they get a lot of free snacks.
This season, there are even more precious free gifts children can score, and it all starts at three awesome stores.
Michaels is celebrating the start of the month by hosting a free kids party on Saturday, October 6, and the Home Depot also has an interesting event to celebrate National Fire Safety Month.
Here's what you can do at Michaels stores
Between 1 pm and 3 pm, children ages 5 to 11 can enjoy fun activities and be given a special prize, while supplies last.
Keep in mind, a parent or guardian must remain at the event with the child.
Fortunately, Michaels has something to offer parents too! Adults will get special discounts on products during this time.
During the kids party, if you buy a craft pumpkin, your child can participate in the Great Pumpkin Decorating Event. All the decorating supplies are free!
There are even more fun activities on this day
If you want to spend more time at Michaels, there are other fun projects your child can participate in that don't cost too much.
The Build a Paper Pumpkin Lantern costs only $2, and runs between 10 am to 12 pm.
The Create a Tissue Paper Pumpkin Decoration costs $5, and runs between 10am-12pm.

Home Depot
When you think October, you think of Halloween, but this month is also National Fire Safety Month.
The home improvement store is offering a free hands-on workshop for you and your child this Saturday only, between 9 am to 12 pm.
If your child loves cars, they're going to love building and decorating a model fireboat.
When they're done, Home Depot staff will give them a free certificate of achievement, workshop apron, and a commemorative pin (while supplies last).

JCPenny
Next Saturday, October 13, between 11 am and 12 pm you and your kids can make a free scarecrow or haunted house at the retail store.
Children will also receive a free pin after they complete the project, and parents will be given a 10% off coupon to use in-store on the day of the event.
