Don't forget to tip your delivery drone.

Or do you tip them? Now that delivery drones are flying closer to reality there's going to have to be a discussion about etiquette. Just when I learned what to do with my human delivery person too...

Back in 2016 Google's parent company Alphabet made big news by partnering with Chipotle to test out Drone Delivery on the campus of Virginia Tech. Hundreds of delicious burritos were robotically delivered to hungry students, and the practice continues to this day.

Lots of other chains have now hopped on the bandwagon. Domino's Pizza began using drones in New Zealand to deliver their pizza. Probably helping them deliver on their 30-minute guarantee. 7-Eleven also tested out drones in Reno, Nevada. The convenience store flew 77 orders to people who had placed orders using an online app. The company said most products were delivered in under 10 minutes.

That is promising news to people who like to shop at home.

<amp-img src="https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/05/amazon-prime---amazon.jpg" srcset="https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/05/amazon-prime---amazon_GH_content_550px.jpg 550w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/05/amazon-prime---amazon_GH_content_650px.jpg 650w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/05/amazon-prime---amazon_GH_content_750px.jpg 750w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/05/amazon-prime---amazon_GH_content_850px.jpg 850w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/05/amazon-prime---amazon_GH_content_950px.jpg 950w" sizes="89vw" title="Prime Air" alt="Prime Air" height="9" width="16" layout="responsive"></amp-img>
Amazon

The most popular online store, and also one of the driving forces behind drone delivery, is Amazon. Their Amazon Prime Air program has really taken off, and they're so confident in it that they promise to deliver their orders within 30 minutes.

That's a big boast from one of the largest companies in the world, but there are still a number of hurdles to overcome. Issues from Air Space to vandalism will continue to plague drone delivery, but these are for brighter minds than mine to solve.

<amp-apester-media height="390" data-apester-media-id="592ed6b7be3db6a6300aeefc"></amp-apester-media>
