Farrah Abraham, known mainly for her work on Teen Mom and her adult films Farrah Superstar: Backdoor Teen Mom and Farrah 2: Backdoor and More, could spend up to 18 months in jail after a night of disgrace in California.
Abraham, who is no stranger to drama, was at Beverly Hills Hotel in June when she got into an altercation with security. She allegedly struck a security guard after he asked her to leave, and when cops showed up, Abraham started taunting them and yelling "GO F*** YOURSELF!"
Abraham also allegedly began yelling things like "I'm a celebrity!" and "you should know who I am!"
Obviously, she was arrested.
Oh sorry, not arrested, just "taken to containment."
"I wasn't arrested. I was taken to containment and people lied and said I touched or battered somebody and I was trespassing, which all I'm not guilty of and never did," Abraham insisted days after the incident. "It was very confusing for me and I wish that no other single mom or person in the public eye has to deal with that. It's a confusing place to be in."
The situation isn't as confusing for the police, though, as the reality star was just charged with battery and resisting arrest. Both of the charges are misdemeanors, but if she's convicted on both charges, the former Teen Mom star could face up to 18 months in jail.
Before charges were laid, but after the incident, Abraham wrote about what she believes happened that night.
I chose this life and I handle being targeted as a public figure & public punching bag, ALL is Fair In Farrah's world. I will never believe the lies that people need to sell to make a dollar off me. Happy it's all recorded and documented, as I should never feel unsafe and be targeted at a hotel I'm staying at. The Beverly Hills hotel truly allowed misconduct by staff to a paying guest [...] The Beverly Hills Police officers should stop having power trips and lying and selling stories to TMZ while you let all of Beverly Hills be robbed, car break ins, stealing go on [...] Focus on really protecting the public and doing good for Beverly Hills instead of creating made up problems.
The altercation between Abraham and the security was made worse when it came out that the star's daughter, Sophia, was upstairs at the hotel with a Nanny at the time. Since Abraham was "taken to containment," Sophia was left alone with a nanny.
Abraham's mom, Debra, then decided to take action. She says she's planning on hiring a lawyer "who can possibly help her gain custody time with Sophia."
"[Sophia] needs to be with her family, not about strangers and volatility and her mother being arrested," Debra told Hollywood Gossip. "It's very disgusting. She needs to go to school...She needs to not be dragged on a party all over the world."
Abraham hasn't publicly responded to her mother's statement, but it's fair to assume these charges aren't going to help anything.
