To say that groceries are expensive would be a major understatement. An average American family spends about $4,000 a year on groceries according to the U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics. It isn't always easy to stay under budget when stores are constantly hiking up their prices.
Even reliable wholesalers such as Costco recently increased their membership fees to make up for the company's recent drop in profits. While you don't exactly need a membership to shop there, you will miss out on some of the exclusive perks if you don't sign up for one.
Since any opportunity to cut back on food-related expenses is always welcomed, there's a new store that is stepping up to the plate with a selection of very reasonably priced products and you don't have to leave your house to shop them.
Brandless is an innovative online-only grocery store that sells high-quality private label grocery products at an unbelievably low price.
So if regular grocery store prices and warehouse store fees are starting to take a toll on your bank account, you'll want to keep reading because right now you can enjoy big savings on your grocery bill.

Co-founders Tina Sharkey and Ido Leffler launched Brandless on July 11 after years of product testing and working with manufacturers to ensure they would offer excellent environmentally friendly products and packaging.
"Our mission is deeply rooted in quality, transparency, and community-driven values. Better stuff, fewer dollars. It's that simple," read a statement on the Brandless website.
The generic products in the Brandless store range from essentials like pasta, flour, peanut butter, and coffee to household cleaning supplies, beauty products and kitchen gadgets. All of the products cost no more than $3 and are presented in cool and clean minimalist packaging. Shipping is a $9 flat rate if you spend under $72, but if you sign up for a membership ($36/year) then shipping is free for orders over $48.
The online-only store is able to offer low-cost products because they've eliminated the "brand tax," a hidden cost that comes with packaging and distribution of national brands.
Unlike many popular consumer brands, Brandless doesn't stock products with GMOs, artificial flavors, colors or preservatives so both your body and your wallet will feel good.
As if the company couldn't get any cooler, they've partnered up with Feeding America so they can "leave a positive impact" on the community by donating one meal for every online order placed.
If you're ready to skip long store lines and cut costs at the same time, you can shop Brandless here. Use the promo code hello3 for $3 shipping on your first order.
