It's looking like 2017 is the year of the comebacks. Classics like Beauty and the Beast, Power Rangers, Princess Diaries and Magic Schoolbus are all slotted to make a return on the screen and now joining them is the Eddie Murphy's Coming To America.

According to TMZ, Eddie Murphy is working on a sequel for the 1988 comedy hit and he's  in "the early writing stages of the project." The gossip site contacted actress Vanessa Bell Calloway, who played Princess Imani Izzi, and she said she'd be on board to reprise her role.

Speculation about the movie started after a tweet was posted through Eddie Murphy's account.

The tweet has since been deleted but fans are already excited about the potential sequel. We've seen what the power of social media can do, so if they weren't already planning to release a movie, it may be wise to consider doing so.
