Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran just recently wrapped up the European leg of his Divide World Tour, and was gearing up to play a host of dates in Asia, but those plans will have to take a backseat for now.
The 26-year-old was in an accident this morning in London, UK according to multiple reports.
A source close to Sheeran first confirmed the news that the Castle on the Hill singer was riding his bike through the streets of his hometown when he was struck by a car.
He was rushed to the hospital, but thankfully his injuries weren't life threatening. The star himself took to social media to share an update on his condition and the extent of his injuries.
Sheeran confirmed through an Instagram post that he was indeed in an accident and suffered serious injuries.
He shared a photo with his right arm in cast and the left in a sling and captioned it, "I've had a bit of a bicycle accident and I'm currently waiting on some medical advice, which may affect some of my upcoming shows. Please stay tuned for further news. Ed x."
Aside from his smooth vocals, Sheeran is known for using a guitar and loop pedal to get his signature sound, so with his right arm broken, there will be a struggle to perform at his upcoming shows.
Although he still awaiting medical advice, it's looking like his scheduled dates in Taipei, Osaka, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Indonesia and Singapore may need to be cancelled until he recovers.
Sheeran's representatives haven't made any official statements in regards to the accident, but more information will be available soon.
Get well soon, Ed!
