Easy Painted Rubber Band Terra Cotta Flower Pots

There is nothing better better than having fresh flowers either inside and out. I love having greenery around all over the house. Often times between seasons I like to bring plants inside and out depending on the weather.

Having plants inside and out sometimes calls for a little nicer pot when indoors. I like to use pots that can work both inside and out. This however calls for having some half decent looking pots to be able to display indoors without looking to shabby.

I love using terra cotta pots because they are not only very inexpensive, I can also paint them in a million different ways to match my own decor. I use them in varying sizes and often get asked where I got my pots from!

These pots in particular were by far one of the easiest to paint and I think probably one of my favorites. I used 2 colors of spray paint I already had hidden in my garage from left over projects and some cheap rubber bands I had saved from varying vegetables I bought while grocery shopping.

Really easy to make and they cost me all of $15 for all 3 pots with bases. Some pots I've seen in stores are upwards of $40 or more. As much as I love the look of them I've always been a savvy shopper. These DIY pots are fun, quick and easy to make and stays well within my decor budget!

To make these pots, paint the terra cotta pot with a the base color (the color that will show up under the bands). Paint the base in the same color as the band as well.

Allow to fully dry.

Wrap thick rubber bands around the pot. Use as many as you like overlapping where you so choose, depending on the look you would like to achieve.

Paint the second color over the entire pot. Do not paint the base as it will remain the stripe color. Allow the second color to fully dry.

Fill pot with soil and your desired plant.
