Donald Trump's presidential victory may be controversial but it has without a doubt turned politics into "pop culture news." It seems like now more than ever, people are very interested in the government's affairs.

While some people like to keep their political opinions on the low, others are more inclined to broadcast theirs for everyone to hear.

More recently, actor and former wrestler Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson sat down for an interview with GQ and shared his two-cents about U.S politics and the Trump administration.

<amp-img src="https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/05/The-Rock-Cover.jpg" srcset="https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/05/The-Rock-Cover_GH_content_550px.jpg 550w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/05/The-Rock-Cover_GH_content_650px.jpg 650w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/05/The-Rock-Cover_GH_content_750px.jpg 750w" sizes="89vw" title="" alt="" height="9" width="16" layout="responsive"></amp-img>

The Moana star is registered as an Independent and did not reveal which party he sides with but he certainly wasn't shy about criticizing the recent travel ban.

"I completely disagree with it," Johnson said. "I believe in our national security to the core, but I don't believe in a "˜ban' that bans immigrants. I believe in inclusion. Our country was built on that, and it continues to be made strong by that. And the decision felt like a snap judgment ... Within 24 hours, we saw a "˜tail effect'. It grew to heartache, it grew to a great deal of pain, it grew to a great deal of confusion, and it had a lot of people scrambling."

Johnson also made a surprising admission about the possibility of switching careers, from acting to politics. He told the magazine that there is a "real possibility" that he will run for office in the 2020 presidential elections.

<amp-img src="https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/05/Dwayne-Johnson.jpg" srcset="https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/05/Dwayne-Johnson_GH_content_550px.jpg 550w" sizes="89vw" title="" alt="" height="9" width="16" layout="responsive"></amp-img>
Newsline

"A year ago it started coming up more and more," he said. "There was a real sense of earnestness, which made me go home and think, "˜Let me really rethink my answer and make sure I am giving an answer that is truthful and also respectful.'"

He doesn't really have a plan laid out just yet because he doesn't "want to be flippant" and make bad decisions but we're confident he'll figure that out closer to 2020.

Johnson has dabbled in politics in the past and even made appearances at the Republican and Democratic National Conventions in 2000 to encourage young voters to participate.

What do you think of The Rock running for president?
