Beth Chapman was recently rushed to the operating room at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles for an emergency surgery to remove a mass.
Following reports of her sudden hospitalization, Beth, 51, who starred alongside her husband Duane "Dog" Chapman on the hit A&E show Dog the Bounty Hunter, revealed that her cancer had returned.
"She had a lump in her throat twice the size of last time, and they performed an emergency surgery [on Tuesday]," Dog explained. "They cut a hole in her throat so she can breathe; she can still talk... [She's] doing the best she can and remains incredibly strong."
Beth was first diagnosed with throat cancer in September 2017, and had to undergo a 12-hour procedure to remove a "plum-sized tumor" that had been blocking her breathing.
At the time, doctors gave her a 50/50 chance of overcoming the disease, and up until this November, she was on track to beat the odds.
Unfortunately, after nearly a year in remission, doctors had to once again remove a cancerous mass from Beth's neck.
Dog and their daughter, Baby Lyssa, also spoke candidly to TMZ and explained that Beth was "not doing good," but they are trying to "keep everything positive. Dog then asked their fans to keep Beth in their prayers.
The Bounty Hunter said that a biopsy scan was performed to determine whether or not the cancer had spread. "Last time it didn't spread at all, so we're hoping the same thing," Dog said.
Sadly, his biggest fear was confirmed when the test results returned to show that Beth's cancer had spread to her lungs.
"I cry all the time," Dog admitted in an interview with inTouch Weekly. "I think I'm in a bad dream and I need to wake up. People keep saying to me, "˜Dog, are you OK?' But I'm not the one who's sick."
Once again asking fans to pray for his wife, Dog also shared that Beth has to undergo four to eight rounds of chemotherapy, which will hopefully slow down the progress of the disease that has been described as "incurable."
This new treatment plans means that Beth and Dog will have to once again leave their home in Colorado. Beth, who was supposed to recover in a Los Angeles hospital, reportedly ignored her doctor's orders after the surgery and returned home to wait for the test results.
Even with such a grim prognosis, Dog said that Beth is fighting "every step of the way" and as always, he will be by her side.
The pair, who have been happily married for 12 years, are keeping their sense of humor intact despite the "bend in the road."
"She's still trying to get involved in my bounties and business," Dog told inTouch magazine. "She's trying to still advise me on my work, and I'm like, "˜Honey, I was Dog the Bounty Hunter before I met you, stay out of it!' And she woke up the other night and told me, "˜You're so damn stupid, if I die you're going to lose the farm,' and I said, "˜Beth, we don't have a farm.'"
