Diane Keaton is a well-known actress who has been in the public eye for a long time. But after all this time, Keaton can still be surprised.
In an insanely bizarre turn of events, Keaton received a package from a man that contained a wallet. I think we can all agree that it would be kind of strange to be sent a random wallet, the stranger thing about it was the this wallet was filled with pictures and cards that belonged to the actress.
Losing a wallet is not unusual, but having someone return it is a little bit out of the ordinary, especially because this wallet was actually 50 years old!
Keaton received the wallet from the 60s after a stranger got it from an auction. Apparently it was left behind in Brewster, Putnam County, in an abandoned storage unit, so in an effort to clear out space the contents were auctioned off.
Anton (Tony) Lulgjaraj purchased the contents, but when he opened the pocketbook that was contained inside, he found 32 family photos and a driver's license issued to Diane Hall, and then the Actors' Equity Association card issued to Diane Keaton.
Keaton is her stage name, while Hall is her legal name, but Lulgjuraj was completely taken aback when he looked through the photos.
"I opened it up and thought, is this Diane Keaton the actress? It couldn't be. Or maybe it could," he said in an interview with the Daily News. "I was so curious," he said. "It was like a time capsule."
Lulgjuraj isn't sure how the wallet ended up in the storage unit, but he knew he had to try and get in touch with her to get these irreplaceable photos back to her.
He tried posting a message to her on Twitter, but either she didn't see it or she didn't believe it because she never got in contact with him.
It wasn't until a news story picked it up and wrote about it that she realized that it's the real deal. She admitted on Twitter that she thought this was "the craziest story."
"I don't remember losing this but I'm not surprised because I've lost my wallet many times!" The actress revealed.
John then put the package in the mail, and shipped it off to the actress.
Keaton is obviously thrilled to be getting back these precious memories. She actually shared one of the pictures on her Instagram.
