Former "Dancing with the Stars" pro Derek Hough is in recovery after undergoing emergency surgery recently. Hough took to social media to share the news of his hospitalization with the public, revealing that he had his appendix removed.

"Woke up at 3am with a severe and a sharp pain in my abdomen. Knew something wasn’t right," the Emmy-winning choreographer wrote in an Instagram post. "Turned out it was appendicitis and had surgery to remove my appendix straight away."

Luckily, the procedure went without a hitch and it wasn't long before Hough was back on his feet. He even managed to perform a "sexy little dance" move for his girlfriend, Hayley Erbert, who captured the entire thing on camera.

"This is me immediately after, still a little (a lot) medicated, giving @hayley.erbert a (sexy) little dance," Hough explained. "Me: 'Is this doing it for you babe?' Hayley: 'So hot.' Thank you for lying to me babe ;)," the "World of Dance" judge joked.

While his fans filled his comment section with well wishes, his brother-in-law, Brooks Laich, joked about the covers on his legs. "Quad-zilla" they call him..." Laich wrote.

Singer Gavin DeGraw also hopped on the humour train and asked Hough to pick him up "one of those badass gowns."

Hough is just the latest celebrity to have experience appendicitis. Back in May, Kelly Clarkson had to under get hers removed.

The "American Idol" winner underwent emergency surgery after hosting the 2019 Billboard Music Awards. Clarkson later shared that she was in pain during the entire show.

“Not gonna lie…. I may or may not have broken down in tears after the show from pain BUT thanks 2 all the amazing people @ Cedars-Sinai I flew home directly after the event, nailed the surgery early this morning, & feeling awesome now!” Clarkson tweeted. "Bye bye appendix #TheShowMustGoOn."

The "Broken & Beautiful" singer explained that she knew she suffered from acute appendicitis before hosting the award show, but the pain only became intolerable after event ended.

“I was supervised… I'd been in contact with my doctors. I knew I was getting the surgery right after, I was onstage with one of my friends singing with me, battling, surviving cancer — a lot of people doing a lot of things way more cool and heroic than me," she told "Extra" host Renee Bargh.

“It wasn't bad until the end of the show because my adrenaline stopped, then I was really excited about getting it out.”

Clarkson definitely took the saying "the show must go on" to another level. She returned to the judge's seat on "The Voice" just days after her surgery.

Like Clarkson, it looks like Hough will also be returning to work in no time. We're wishing up a speedy recovery!
