As parents, watching your children take their first step and speak their first word are HUGE deals. But for most children, the sweet and soothing sound of their parent's voice is what makes them feel all giddy.
Two-month-old baby Charlotte "Charly" Keane was born with a hearing impairment, so she didn't have the chance to recognize the sound of her parent's voice.
After learning of their daughter's condition, Christy and Daniel Keane got their baby a hearing aid.
They decided to record Charly's heartwarming response to hearing her mother's sweet voice for the first time.
Charly's reaction to her mother saying "˜I Love You' is priceless!
Christy was encouraged by friends to share the video on social media, and so far the video has reached more than 18 million views on Facebook and shared thousands of times.
Charly's reaction to her mother's voice
Charly seems to be holding back tears throughout the video, clearly overwhelmed by hearing her mother's voice.
Charly's parents are aware that their daughter's condition won't be cured, but hope alternative methods, such as implants that'd replace damage parts of the ear, will be a future possibility.
"I want you all to know I am so PROUD to be the mother of a deaf child." Christy wrote in a recent Instagram post. "When this sweet child locks her eyes on mine, I just know she feels our love for her, our protection, and our hopes."
