<div><p>Earlier this week we shared with you Crayola's decision to <a href="https://www.shared.com/crayola-is-getting-rid-of-an-iconic-color/">retire</a> one of its iconic crayons. Although the company wanted to keep us guessing until the scheduled Facebook live-stream today, the plan didn't work after a Twitter user leaked the news a day early. </p><p>On Thursday, the world learned that the color leaving the box is Dandelion. </p><p>Crayola confirmed the news to its followers on Twitter by posting an animated video featuring an adventurous Mr. Dandelion reflecting on his past experiences and bidding farewell.</p><div><amp-twitter height="472" width="375" layout="responsive" data-tweetid="847501880242585602"></amp-twitter></div><p><!-- [invalid-shortcode] --></p><p>The shade was one of 4 yellowish hues along with "yellow," "yellow green" and "green yellow" but judging from the reactions on social media, Dandelion seemed to have had quite the fan following. </p><p></p><div><amp-twitter height="472" width="375" layout="responsive" data-tweetid="847590179045093377"></amp-twitter></div><p><!-- [invalid-shortcode] --></p><div><amp-twitter height="472" width="375" layout="responsive" data-tweetid="847654776477147136"></amp-twitter></div><div><amp-twitter height="472" width="375" layout="responsive" data-tweetid="847602919562067968"></amp-twitter></div><div><amp-twitter height="472" width="375" layout="responsive" data-tweetid="847589994835447810"></amp-twitter></div><p>Crayola will still proceed with the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/events/268873913525280/">Facebook live stream</a> which will take place this morning. In case you're still not convinced, the company's publicist confirmed via <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/crayola-dandelion-retire_us_58dd657ce4b0e6ac7093865a?bjt1f7su2fh0nt57b9&&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=The%20Morning%20Email%20013117&utm_content=The%20Morning%20Email%20013117+CID_65253d262947942955142fb4fb091d7f&utm_source=Email%20marketing%20software&utm_term=the%20crayon%20color%20that%20got%20the%20ax&">Huffington Post</a> that this isn't an April Fools' joke. </p><p><!-- [invalid-shortcode] --></p><p>Dandelion will go on to live in Crayola's Hall of Fame but you'll no longer find it in the classic 24 or 64-count boxes.
