Coca Cola Salad Is Soda-Delicious

Shared

Well it may not look to appetizing, but the taste is the complete opposite! Coca Cola Salad is a recipe from way back when, however, what I can't understand is why it's referred to as a salad. There's no lettuce in it, no vegetables, no salad dressing...so is it a salad?

Decided to strike up this debate with some friends and find out what their thoughts were on this recipe. Some said it was salad (which I still can't understand), some say it's a side dish, and some say it's a dessert. Personally, I don't think this recipe knows what it wants to be.

One thing that is for sure, I'm not sure I would have taken a bite of this based on looks alone. It looks more like a sea creature of some sort then an edible dish. I'm curious of the individual that came up with this recipe, at what point did they think "Hey, let's put together coca cola, gelatin and some juices to make a delicious salad!"...I just can't see it.

In the end, everyone's opinions and taste buds are different, so if you're up for a little mystery this is definitely a recipe to try!
