Clear Pumpkin Pie Is A Thing But It Really Shouldn't Be

Thanksgiving is a time to celebrate with family and to eat delicious food. Turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, they're all classics on practically every dinner table.

But perhaps the most beloved part of Thanksgiving dinner is the dessert, more specifically pumpkin pie. Other than apple pie, you could argue that pumpkin pie is the most iconic American dessert.

It's the perfect way to end a big meal. It's also good for breakfast the next morning, if you're curious.

But one restaurant in Chicago has decided they needed to "re-vamp" the pumpkin pie. Now, I'll admit that there are some pretty great ways to change up a classic pumpkin pie, like cheesecakes, pie bombs, and individual pies.

This restaurant took it too far, though.

Simon Davis, chef de cuisine at three-Michelin-star restaurant Alinea in Chicago, introduced a "clear" pumpkin pie as part of his fall menu.

Davis posted a video of the pie on Instagram, and it's actually really tiny.

There's no actual description of the pie, but it seems to be a normal crust with gelatin (presumably pumpkin flavored) on the inside, with a tiny dollop of whipped cream on top.

The pie is making the rounds on social media, and the reviews are pretty mixed.

I don't really like Jell-O anyways, but this just seems wrong! What do you think?
