The original '80s "it girl" is sharing her secret technique to keep looking youthful into your 60s.
The supermodel became a household name after gracing the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue three years in a row between 1979 and 1981, becoming the first model to ever accomplish that feat. Throughout her long career Brinkley appeared on more than 500 magazine covers, but that was just the tip of the iceberg.
She also found success as an actress, TV host, photographer, writer, designer, animal rights activist and even an illustrator. She was also the face of CoverGirl cosmetics for 25 years - still the longest contract of its kind any model has signed. Plus, she and singer Billy Joel were a celebrity power couple through the '80s and '90s.
With all that success, it seems unfair that at age 63 Brinkley has barely aged a day from the height of her career. In fact Brinkley's career has actually experience a renaissance in her 60s, as she's transformed from a symbol of youthful glamour to the picture of timeless beauty.
But how does she pull it off? The supermodel has actually spilled her secret to looking ageless at 63, and it's very easy to copy...
It's no surprise that Brinkley says she uses her own skin care line, Christie Brinkley Authentic Skincare, but there's more to the story.
The model says that at the start of her career she stumbled onto a healthy skin hack that has stayed with her throughout the decades. "In the beginning of my career I read an article about the reason that men always look five years younger than women is because they shave," she told Elle magazine.
"It said that the daily exfoliation from shaving gives them that rapid cell turnover and keeps their skin glowing and looking so great. So I thought, well, I am just not going to let them have that advantage." For daily exfoliation, Brinkley recommends getting a very gentle exfoliator, so the habit won't wear out your skin.
Brinkley credits her vegan diet with keeping her skin healthy too, but says she's not very strict about it. "Life is too short to not have oysters and champagne sometimes," she says.
Also, make sure you get your eight hours each night, "because they don't call it beauty sleep for nothing." But let's be real, good genes probably play a part as well. After all, Brinkley's daughter Sailor is quickly becoming a supermodel in her own right.
