A Fixer Upper star is sporting a bald new hairdo. It's not for aesthetics, but rather charity.
HGTV stars Chip and Joanna Gaines have been recent fixtures in the media spotlight, from divorce allegations to the ending of their hit show.
The duo have taken advantage of their rising fame by expanding their brand with their own store, a magazine, home improvement books, and launching a clothing line in partnership with Target.
With their popularity at an all time high, the Gaines used their notoriety for a good cause.
Last week, Chris asked his fans to donate to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, in exchange for him cutting his hair through #OperationHaircut. How much he trimmed his mane was dependent on the total amount raised.
"...the more money we raise over the next FOUR days, the shorter my hair goes," he said.
True to his word, Chip cut off luscious locks, and it didn't disappoint.
Joanna unveiled Chip's new look on social media, while also sending well-wishes to the children still residing in the hospital.
"We are leaving Memphis changed. Kiddos of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital we go with your faces on our minds and your stories in our hearts. Thank you for letting us be a part of your home at Target House. We are cheering you on every step of the way," Joanna wrote on Facebook.
The fifth and final season of 'Fixer Upper' premieres on Nov. 21. With their newfound free time, the couple plans to enjoy it with their family.
