If you've ever worked in the fast food industry, you know it's not all sunshine and rainbows.
Sometimes the deep fryer can break down or the customers start acting rude or impatient , and you can only count the hours until you can officially clock out.
It's a crucial not to sweat the small stuff, and start each shift with a friendly smile and positive attitude - remember the importance of faking it until you make it.
But one fast food employee doesn't have to put on an act, and has already gone above and beyond for his customers.
Jared Wilson, 19, had been working at Chick-fil-A at its Midlothian, Va. location for the past 18 months when he split-second decision to run after a customer who drove away from the drive thru without collecting his entire order.
"I knew I could probably catch [the customer], so I figured I might as well give it a shot," he said.
The speedy employee ran 1/10 of a mile before he caught up with the patron, who was shocked over Wilson's dedication to delivering her missing chicken sandwich.
Although Wilson said running after customers isn't a regular occurrence, it's something "we were expected to do."
When people on social media saw the clip of the hard working employee, they couldn't help but sing him praise while dubbing him a "true American hero."
I would never drive off without part of my order but yeah, this is a true American hero!
