Prenups kind of take the romance out of marriage, if you ask me. Don't get me wrong, I understand why they're necessary, but it just seems ridiculous to plan out your divorce before you've even had the wedding.
But while a prenup for a "normal" couple might be about who gets to keep the house, these celebrity prenups literally put a price tag on love.
1. Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel
Though it may seem like Timberlake and Biel are solid in their relationship, Biel isn't so sure. She made sure to include a clause in their prenup that says if the singer cheats on her, Biel will get $500,000.
I'm sure there are other clauses in the contract, but one specifically for cheating seems like there's a lack of trust there.
2. Beyonce and Jay-Z
One of the most stable couples in Hollywood, Beyonce made sure she was covered if the couple ever got divorced. Not only does she get $5 million per child she has (which is up to three now), she also gets $1 million for every year the couple was married.
If the relationship was to end today, Beyonce would walk away with $25 million on those clauses alone.
3. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes
Holmes had said before that it was a "dream come true" to marry Tom Cruise, but that dream quickly turned into a nightmare. The same thing happened with their prenup.
It was reported that Cruise and Holmes had signed an agreement stating she would receive $3 million for every year they were married, and if they stayed married for 11 years, she'd get half his money.
But when all was said and done after six years of marriage, Holmes reportedly "only" walked away with $400,000 a year in child support for their daughter Suri.
4. Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman
Urban and Kidman are pretty much the definition of a power couple, but Urban has had his share of struggles in the past. Battling with drug and alcohol addiction, Urban has now been sober for over a decade. However, anyone who knows someone with addiction knows things can change in an instant.
Urban is slated to get $640,000 for every year he and Kidman are married, but if he relapses, he forfeits all the money.
5. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt
You'd think this prenup was something "Brangelina" would have thought of, but according to TMZ, that's not the case. Now that they're amid a divorce, the couple is fighting for custody of their kids and also their money.
I guess this doesn't count as an outrageous prenup, but it's definitely insane that a couple of their reputation doesn't have anything written out.
6. Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas
Even though her husband is 25 years her senior, Catherine Zeta Jones is apparently worried he's going to sleep around.
As it's currently laid out, Jones would get $2.8 million for every year she and Douglas were married, plus she'd get an additional $5 million if her husband was caught cheating.
7. Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom
Khloe Kardashian doesn't really need money, but she got it all the same. After her four year marriage dissolved, she received $2 million ($500,00 for each year she and Odom were married) as well as $25,000 a month in spousal support, the house, a car at the end of every lease cycle, $5,000 a month for "shopping," and $1,000 a month for "beauty."
8. Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo
Though Simpson and Romo never actually got married, he made it clear that if they did, she needed to pull her weight...or at least maintain it.
Romo drew up a clause that would have charged Simpson $500,000 for every pound she gained that put her over 135lbs. So if she went up to 140lbs, she would have owed him $2 million.
Seems pretty obvious why that relationship fell apart, honestly.
9. Janet Jackson and Wissam Al Mana
Janet Jackson was accused of being shady after the details of her prenup with billionaire husband Wissam Al Mana came to light.
In the prenup, it was written that Jackson would receive $100 million for five years of marriage. She announced her separation less than a month after the five-year mark of her marriage.
It also stated that if she and Al Mana had a child, she would earn an extra $100 million. Just months after their son Eissa was born, Jackson filed for separation.
The iconic singer claims Al Mana was too controlling during her pregnancy, which is why she wanted out of the marriage.
10. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West
It's hard to even fathom the amount of money in this relationship, but it had to happen before the reality star and her rapper husband got married.
If the marriage falls apart, Kardashian is entitled to $1 million for every year they were married. She also gets to keep her wedding ring and any other gift that West gave her. In addition, she gets to keep the income earned from her clothing lines, TV show, and appearances.
Perhaps the most interesting part of this prenup that that there is no child custody clause. The couple currently have three kids together, so things could get messy if they do end up calling it quits.
