Genetics are a crazy thing. Regardless of your social status or where you come from, your genetics all do the same thing: determine who you are and what you look like. Each family has certain traits they pass down from generation to generation, whether or not they want to.
Usually you inherit certain traits, like your mom's eyes or your dad's nose. You may not like it, but it's the way the world works. I got my dad's height and nose, while I got my mom's feet and eyes. Is that what I would have picked from each of them? Probably not. But it's what I got, so I have to live with it.
But these celebrity kids inherited absolutely everything from their famous parents, and it's almost unnerving to look at. I honestly think Reese Witherspoon's daughter looks more like Reese Witherspoon than Reese Witherspoon does.
1. Cindy Crawford and Kaia Gerber
The international super model has spoken publicly about raising a daughter who is also trying to enter the modeling industry.
"I don't really think that you can teach how to model," she said. "It needs to come from within. But like, with Kaia when she was little, about seven years old, she would play dress-up in Mom's clothes, and I would do her hair and makeup and we would play photoshoot or runway show. I would be shooting the pictures, and I'd be like, 'No, put your chin up,' or 'Hold your arm out like that.' Probably, a little of it stuck."
2. Julianne Moore and Liv Freundlich
Maybe it's the red hair, but these two definitely have a striking resemblance! Even though she had kids later in life, Moore knew it was something that needed to happen.
"I really wanted a family, I really wanted children and I didn't want to compromise on that," she said. "This wasn't a thing that I thought, oh God, kids! [laughs]. I was like, this is a goal. I've loved every minute of it and continue to love it and so it hasn't been... It's been really wonderful to experience it."
3. Meryl Streep and Mammie Gummer
We all know Meryl Streep is an actress, but her daughter Mammie Gummer has also hit the screen in her own right. But despite her mother's fame, Mammie says Meryl always put her kids first.
"Her priority was being our mother, not being a celebrity, and it certainly wasn't like we had Warren Beatty to the house every Thursday," she recalls. "One of the smartest things my parents did was to move to the country when we were small."
4. Demi Moore and Rumer Willis
The oldest of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis's kids, Rumer has made a name for herself on the show Empire. Even though some people might fear the thought of working alongside their mom, Rumer said she loved having Demi guest-star on the show.
"I love it, we have a great time," Rumer shared. "Honestly, even though we pretty much live, I would say, 10 maybe 15 minutes away from each other in L.A., with your schedules, you sometimes don't end up getting to spend the quality time with each other. And so, being able to have time to go out and eat and really spend time with each other has been really amazing."
5. Kate Hudson and Goldie Hawn
In one of the most famous Hollywood families of all time, Kate Hudson is the spitting image of her mother. But she doesn't just take after her looks. Hudson has been open about emulating her parenting style after her mom. When Hudson was asked what she's learned from her mother, she didn't know where to start.
"How much time do we have? It's challenging because it is that plentiful," Hudson said. "I feel lucky, blessed that I have a role model that I can call mom. I think that compassion, to be compassionate. I have a lot of fight in me by nature. I think one of the things that my mom has taught me is to find compassion in everything I do. Kindness and that family is everything. That how we raise our children is the true legacy for everyone and everything, so everything we put our heart into is really for our family."
6. Gwenyth Paltrow and Apple Martin
Paltrow doesn't often post photos of her kids on social media, but this picture of her and daughter Apple got people talking. They definitely share the same eyes.
Her son Moses also falls into the lookalike category! Paltrow posted a sweet message to her son on his 12th birthday, and he looks just like his mama!
"Happy birthday, my son. You are the sweetest, most brilliant young man I've ever met. You broke the mold 12 years ago today when you came into the world. #Iwasbornthedayyouwereborn."
7. Tina Fey and Alice Richmond
Tina Fey, known for her work on Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock, gave birth to her daughter Alice in 2006, and now the young girl is grown up! Alice, who Fey shares with her husband Jeff Richmond, was seen out at a Broadway show with her mom and the show's star, Josh Groban. She definitely takes after her mother!
8. Lisa Bonet and Zoe Kravitz
The former Cosby Show star certainly passed along her looks to daughter Zoe. The duo is often seen together at awards shows and fashion week, and they always look like they could be twins! Bonet keeps a very low profile, but Kravitz spoke about her mother's reaction to Bill Cosby's sexual assault accusations.
"She's just as disgusted and concerned as everyone else is, but I don't think she has any insight," Zoe said in an interview. "It's news to her as well. I don't think she wants to hear about anyone being abused, especially by someone she spent so much time with. It feels s----y. You want to shower."
9. Tom Hanks and Colin Hanks
Tom Hanks may be one of the least controversial actors to ever have graced Hollywood, and his son Colin is not far behind. though the father-son duo has never starred together on screen, they've each made a name for themselves. But don't let that fool you, they don't spend a lot of their time talking show business.
"To be honest, pretty much any conversations that we have about anything related to the business of show tends to be, "˜So, how do you stay sane on location? How do you make the best of your time when you're traveling back and forth trying to see our family as much as you can?'" Colin Hanks said in an interview. "It's always sort of those nuts and bolts kinds of questions. I don't have the time to write that email, and he doesn't have the time to respond. When we see each other, we like to talk about other things."
10. Reese Witherspoon and Ava Phillippe
This mother-daughter duo is basically identical. Ava, who Reese shares with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, is 18 years old now and the spitting image of her mother. Reese often talks about how close she and her daughter are.
"Ava and I also share clothes sometimes, and it makes me so happy to see how she expresses her own personal style with each outfit she creates," she said. "She is cutting her own creative path in this world, and I could not be prouder of her."
11. Ryan Phillippe and Deacon Phillippe
While we're in the Witherspoon-Phillippe realm, we'd be remiss if we didn't point out the similarities between Deacon and his dad, Ryan. The other child from Reese and Ryan's marriage is the spitting image of his father.
12. Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise
Suri and her famous mom have been making more and more appearances in the recent months, which is a far cry from when the young girl was kept away from the public eye. Recently, she and Katie introduced Taylor Swift at the 2017 Jingle Ball concert.
13. Susan Sarandon and Eva Amurri
Like mother, like daughter! Sarandon and Amurri are both in the entertainment industry, although Amurri recently took time off to be with her kids. She's got the full support of her mother, who is thrilled about taking on a different told.
"It's so much easier, so much easier [being a grandmother]," said Sarandon. "I think that what she's doing is amazing. I'm very proud of her. And she's really a funny kid. She's fierce, she's strong."
14. Clint Eastwood and Scott Eastwood
Despite being the exact copy of his father, Scott Eastwood says being known for his dad's work actually sucked while trying to break into Hollywood.
"I came here to try and do something and nobody took me seriously.
"Everyone brushed me off, like, "˜you're Clint Eastwood's son, you're not a real f**king actor,'" he said in an interview. "Some people are still like that. I never thought I would last in this business, but it finally seems to be working out. My dad never gave me a cent. He made me work for everything. Man he was hard on me but it hardened me and gave me drive. He made me pay my way through college. That was hard. But he knew the best lesson in life that he could teach me was that I had to learn to take care of myself and not expect any favors."
15. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Joseph Baena
I have no idea how anyone could deny these two being related. One look and it's clear they're cut from the same cloth. Though Arnold didn't come into Joseph's life until later, the two have formed a bond. The former governor of California said he didn't know Joseph was his son until he "started looking like me, that's when I kind of got it. I put things together."
