Carrie Underwood has been through her fair share of struggles in the past year. The country singer had a nasty fall in November of 2017, tumbling down a flight of stairs outside her home. Underwood told fans she had broken her wrist and required surgery, but it seemed like that was her only injury.
I just wanted let everyone know that I'm doing great. Had surgery on my wrist yesterday & all went well...even though I'll be setting off airport metal detectors from now on...I'm so thankful for the doctors, nurses, family & friends who've been taking such great care of me.

But in an email sent to fan club members, Underwood revealed that her injuries were far worse than she had lead on.
There is also another part of the story that I haven't been ready to talk about since I have still been living it and there has been much uncertainty as to how things will end up. It's crazy how a freak random accident can change your life.In addition to breaking my wrist, I somehow managed to injure my face as well. I'll spare you the gruesome details, but when I came out of surgery the night of my fall, the doctor told Mike that he had put between 40 and 50 stitches in.
I am determined to make 2018 amazing and I want to share things with you along the way. And when I am ready to get in front of a camera, I want you all to understand why I might look a bit different.
Six months after her accident, Underwood revealed she was releasing a new album and finally revealed her "new" face at and ACM Awards.
Her face looked the same to most people, so clearly a lot of the build-up was due to Underwood's mental strength. She is lucky to have a supportive family through it all, with her NHL player husband Mike Fisher and three-year-old son Isaiah always by her side.
The Big Announcement
On the heels of announcing another tour in 2019, Underwood also had some big news to share with her fans. In a video posted on Twitter, the American Idol winner had some big news to share.

"You might be wondering or asking, 'Carrie, why is your tour starting in May?'" the singer said.
The camera then zooms out to reveal balloons spelling out the word "BABY."
"Yay! Mike and Isaiah and I are absolutely over the moon and excited to be adding another little fish to our pond," Underwood shared. "This has just been a dream come true with [the] album and with baby news, we're just so excited!"
Just a few days ago, Underwood had commented on the possibility of having more kids, saying she felt as though she "missed her chance."
"I'm 35, so we may have missed our chance to have a big family," she said. "We always talk about adoption and doing it when our child or children are a little older."
Looks like she didn't miss her chance after all! Though she doesn't say when she's due, Underwood implies that by the time May rolls around, she'll be ready to be performing almost every night, so odds are the newest addition will be coming this year!
Do you think they'll be having a boy or a girl?
