Carrie Fisher Once Sent A Cow Tongue To A Predatory Producer Who Assaulted Her Friend

Entertainment Weekly

After learning a Hollywood producer assaulted her close friend, Carrie Fisher did what any good confidant would do - gifted the assailant a cow tongue.

Screenwriter Heather Robinson revealed her tale of sexual assault to  Arizona radio station, 94.9 MixFM, in a discussion surrounding the recent Harvey Weinstein scandal.

Robinson said she made contact with an unnamed Oscar-winning producer in 2000 in hopes of working on his next blockbuster.

"I felt safe thinking, 'I'm overweight, I'm not attractive to these people, I'm not looking to become an actress,'" Robinson said.

Robinson said he picked her up for what was suppose to be a business meeting and pushed her against the car seat and held her down. She managed to escape the scary situation and informed her friend shortly after.

A few weeks later, Fisher revealed to Robinson she took the liberty to hand deliver the executive a parcel wrapped in a Tiffany box with a white bow at Sony Studios.

"It was a cow tongue from Jerry's Famous Deli with a note that said: "˜If you ever touch my darling Heather or any other woman again, the next delivery will be something of yours in a much smaller box,'" Robinson said.

Robinson added knowing she had Fisher's support left a lasting impression on her.

"It felt validating to know, OK, first of all, this woman who I love as a friend was not just a fake Hollywood friend. That's who Carrie Fisher was. She spoke out and she put things out there in your face," she said.

Fisher, best known for her role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars franchise, passed away last December at the age of 60.
