Listen, I know that technology is great. We all use Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Netflix and the rest but there is one form of entertainment that never goes out of style: Card games.
Sure, you can play different games on your phone or computer, but there's something about the tactile experience of a card game that just makes it one of the best ways to have fun.
They are usually pretty simple to learn, which makes them the perfect party game. You can bring them basically anywhere and introduce a whole new group of people anytime you're looking for something new to do.
But there is one problem with card games: you don't always hear about the best ones. A lot of us hear "card games" and we assume it's Poker, Crazy Eights, or Go Fish, but there are so many more options out there. Click Here for Home Page
Don't worry though, because we've got all the best games you could possibly need right here. Here's a tip for you: all of these are great Christmas gifts and the holiday season is coming up fast!
1. Werewolf: A Party Game For Devious People
This game is a simple concept but it really will teach you a lot about your friends and their ability to lie to you.
The point is to figure out who the werewolf is in the crowd, but everyone has a different role. The werewolf will pick off their competition, but the villagers have to work together to discover which one of their friends is lying to them.
It's a lot of fun, and you'll probably be surprised at how quickly your loved ones will be ready to throw you under the bus.
Get the game here for only $12.99!
2. Long Cow Udderly Ridiculous Card Game
This one is very, very silly, but that makes it perfect for kids. You've got to build the best cow, but watch out because there are a bunch of obstacles you have to get through if you want that prize winning heifer.
It's "Udderly Ridiculous" but in the best possible way. Get it here.
3. Skip-Bo
You can't beat a classic! Skip-Bo has been around for several years, but you know what, it's just as fun as ever. It doesn't matter how old I get, I still love playing this game all the time.
It's surprising how competitive it is, but it's probably the best card game in my opinion.
4. Exploding Kittens
Hear me out, yes the name sounds kind of violent, but the game itself is shockingly delightful. Learning how to play takes no time at all, and the cards themselves are too cute to resist.
There are also a bunch of expansion packs so your game has room to grow!
5. Trash Pandas
I know that having a raccoon in your trash can is a pain in the butt when it happens in real life, but this game will make you see what it's like for those little scavengers.
You've got to get as much trash as possible to earn the most cards, but watch out, you don't want to get caught!
Get this super cute game here.
6. What Do You Meme?
So if you can't quite shake that internet addiction, What Do You Meme? brings the internet to a card game. Taking all of your favorite memes and letting you put hilarious little caption cards to match up to them, it is a ridiculous game that takes the party to the next level.
Fair warning though, this game is not intended for children, but trust me, your grownup friends are going to love it!
7. Bears Vs. Babies
So this game takes your Long Cow game and takes it up a notch. Instead of building a cow, you've got to create the ultimate monster.
The artist responsible is the same person who designed Exploding Kittens, so you know it's going to be great. It's the perfect wild game that every party needs.
8. Mille Bornes
If you can't play that racing game you love because the power is out, then Mille Bornes is just what you need. The strategic game is a total classic, and I remember playing it all the time when I was a kid. Try it yourself and see if you can keep your road rage in check!
9. The Oregon Trail Card Game
You know that classic game each and every one of us failed at when we were in computers class in the 90s? Well, now it's an epic card game!
Hopefully this time we won't all die from dysentery...
10. Wizard
We've all seen this game around, but you should definitely give it a shot. It's a classic for a reason! It's one of those games that people of all ages love to play, so pull it out the next time you're at a family event!
11. Family Feud
Survey says... Your whole family is going to love this, because you know they all watch the show and think that they would have been able to answer so much better.
It's a convenient way to see which of your family members should be on your team if you ever audition for the real version!
12. Quiddler
Seems simple enough, right? We all know a bunch of short words, so it should be no problem. Well, when the cards start coming, your brain stops turning. It gets really crazy, really quick. Highly recommend!
13. Unstable Unicorns
You've just got to build the best army, so I guess it's kind of like Risk, only instead of boring old soldiers, you have epic unicorns on your side!
There a few versions of the game, so you have a lot of options to choose from.
14. Cards Against Humanity
This feels like one of those games we have all played, and you know why we've all played it? Because it's a hilarious game.
It really shows off just how terrible all your friends really are, but in the funniest way imaginable. Definitely keep this one away from the kids though!
15. I Gotta Go With...
The game is simple, you just have to answer the trivia questions, but it becomes addictive really quickly. Trying to tap into your pop culture memory is harder than you might think, but once you start you can't stop!
16. Watch Ya' Mouth
Sure, it's a silly concept, but it'll have you laughing so hard you cry in no time. The goofy mouth guard game is fun for all ages, with a bunch of expansion packs to make sure you get one based on your interests.
You might think it's easy, but the second you get that mouth guard in, you are basically speaking another language.
17. Karma
Very few games can end up with multiple winners, but with Karma, you don't know the loser until the very last second. You've just got to get rid of all your cards, but obviously your opponent isn't going to let it happen.
It's a great family-friendly game that is easy to learn.
18. Uno
No card game list is complete without Uno. It's one of the most fun card games ever, and even though we all have played it before, we should all keep on playing it.
It's fun for everyone in the whole family, and is one of those timeless games that will never go out of style.
19. Apples to Apples
You'd be surprised at how hard it is to figure out what certain things are when you have limited words, but somehow Apples to Apples makes us all forget all the basic knowledge we are supposed to know.
20. Scrimish
It seems like most card games are just ways to lie to your friends, because Scrimish also takes on the tricky task of misdirection.
All you've got to do is track down your opponent's crown card, but as it turns out it's never that simple.
What's your favorite card game?
