Whether it's the unlimited salad and bread sticks that draw you in, or you just have a strong craving for a delicious pasta meal that won't break the bank, Olive Garden is the place to be!
But what really happens behind the scenes of this popular American restaurant.
Thanks to Joe Wadlington, a writer who recently went on a date with someone who was very close to the Olive Garden family, we are now getting the answers we may have always wanted to know.
I went on a date last night and the guy meekly shared that he used to be THE GENERAL MANAGER FOR THE TIMES SQUARE OLIVE GARDEN.

Get ready, because here we go!
Q Did y'all ever run out of breadsticks? If so what happened?
— Joe Wadlington (@JoeWadlington) April 19, 2017
A Yes. Twice. Worst shifts of my life. People were angry, kept telling us "no"
A: How big is it?
— Joe Wadlington (@JoeWadlington) April 19, 2017
Q: Three floors. It may be the biggest Olive Garden in the world. The wait was always 2 hours. Our last seating was at 2AM
2 A.M.? Could you imagine eating Olive Garden at 2 o'clock in the morning! Crazy.
But wait, there's more.
With a menu that you don't see country-wide and city pricing in effect, the orders piled into the kitchen.
Apparently the most popular dish at the restaurant was the Tour of Italy. It was a plate of lasagna, a chicken Parmesan and one fettuccine Alfredo. Because choosing just one meal would be way too difficult for these hungry New York City visitors.
Okay, so running out of breadsticks in a crazy 3-floored restaurant would be a stressful night, but it wasn't the strangest thing to happen to this employee.
Q: Steak knives? Like the knives from the table or BYOK?
— Joe Wadlington (@JoeWadlington) April 19, 2017
A: From the table. So, it started out as a fist fight and the other manger pulled
them apart and put one in the elevator going down to the 1st floor. They were on the third floor. The 2nd woman broke away and ran down the

Stairs. She stopped the elevator on the 2nd floor and grabbed a knife off someone's table.

A: someone else's knife?!
Q: yes
A: What happened after that?
— Joe Wadlington (@JoeWadlington) April 19, 2017
Q: I don't know. They were outside, so they weren't our problem anymore
A: Would you say they're still "family"
Wow. Crazy! But running out of breadsticks was still worse.
A: You may be surprised, but yes, Olive Garden running out of breadsticks is worse than a knife fight.
— Joe Wadlington (@JoeWadlington) April 19, 2017
Q: No, I totally get it.
So there you have it, running out of bread sticks at an 3-storey Olive Garden restaurant in Times Square New York City is worse than breaking up a knife fight.
