Can you believe we are already four months into 2019? The year is zooming by faster than you can say Jack Robinson.
As we go further into the year, we're beginning to see which trends will stick around for a while, and this includes baby names.
Nameberry, the largest baby name website in the world, has recently released its list of the most popular baby names of the year so far, and it is full of surprises. These days, it isn't just celebrities that are opting to give their kids unusual names. Average parents are more daring than ever when it comes baby name choices.
While the annual baby name list still includes classic monikers like Eleanor, Henry, Alice and Oscar, these names failed to nab the number one spot. In both the boys and girls categories, the names in the top spots seem to be inspired by pop culture, literature and Greek mythology.
For girls, Isla ranked at number one while Olivia and Posie followed in second and third, respectively. Aurora and Cora rounded out the top five.
As for boys, Milo came out on top, followed by Jasper and Asher. Atticus and Silas took the fourth and fifth positions, respectively.
Here are the rest of the boy and girl names on the top 20

Since it is only May, we should expect this list to change as more babies make their debut this year. It wouldn't come as a shock if the next reiteration of the list includes celebrity baby names like Birdie (Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson's daughter), Archie (Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's son), and Psalm (Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's son).
Both Birdie and Archie stem from shortened versions of Elizabeth and Archibald, respectively. However, it is not common to find a person named Psalm.
The name Kim and Kanye picked for their fourth child is obviously inspired by the Bible. Sources close to the couple have told media outlets that the celebrity couple chose the moniker, which means "song" or "instrumental music," because it reflects their current spiritual state.
"Kanye has been going through a spiritual revival lately," the anonymous insider explained. "Every name has a meaning that is personal between Kanye and Kim and the child. Psalm is a good reflection of where Kanye and Kim are spiritually."
Psalm's grandmother, Kris Jenner, also opened up about her youngest grandchild's unique name. She revealed that the name goes beyond the Bible, adding that it is "just a wonderful way to celebrate how they [Kim and Kanye] feel. And he's such a blessing, so it's perfect. He's just adorable."
This isn't the first time that Kim and Kanye have shocked us with an unusual baby name. The couple, who have been married for five years, named their first daughter North, while their second and third children are named Saint and Chicago.
The Kardashian-West children are not alone in having names that stand out. Their cousins also boast unique names. Kim's sisters Khloe and Kylie named their daughters, True and Stormi.
